I come to this coffee shop almost every day and always order the same thing: a medium iced vanilla latte with light ice. Simple, right? Yet somehow, it’s rarely made consistently. As a barista myself, I understand how things work behind the counter, so I try to be patient and give grace. But the quality — and the service — have become too frustrating to ignore.
First off, charging 25 cents extra for light ice feels excessive. Again, I get it from an internal cost standpoint. But as a customer, it’s hard to justify, especially when the drink doesn’t even taste right.
The issue that bothers me most is the inconsistency. My latte tastes different almost every time I go. Sometimes it’s fine, other times it’s completely watered down. I finally said something about it tasting like water, and it took 15 minutes to get it remade which, fine, I’d wait for a quality drink. But during that time, I witnessed the baristas laughing, pointing, and gossiping about my complaint, which was incredibly unprofessional and uncomfortable.
What really pushed me over the edge was when the barista said, “We don’t add water, we add milk,” in a condescending tone. I am a barista. I know what goes into a latte. The issue is the technique: they add the ice first and then the espresso, which immediately waters down the drink - especially if the espresso sits on the ice before any milk is added. It’s a clear sign that the staff isn’t properly trained on how to make espresso-based drinks.
Overall, I’m really disappointed. As someone in the industry, I don’t expect perfection, but I do expect consistency, professionalism, and basic coffee knowledge. Unfortunately, this place has fallen short on all...
Read moreOverall a cute place and TONS of options. But everything I ordered was too sweet. Matcha was okay (I like real matcha so I am picky) - I think most people would enjoy it. I expected the garlic cream cheese roll I ordered to be moreso food rather than a dessert, just based on the name and looking at it, but it was a dessert. If that's what you are expecting, it was decent. Kind of hard though. But as I was not expecting a dessert, I was pretty disappointed with it. The main reason for 3 stars is that both me and my mom got bad diareah a little after we left. My mom hadn't drank or eaten anything else today, and my last meal had been about 5 hours prior, so it kind of had to have been the matcha, which was the only thing we both ordered. Either the ice or soy milk was bad. I'm hoping this isn't a common occurrence. I unfortunately definitely...
Read moreI arrived on a Sunday morning at 7:25 AM. The door was open and I went in and I was rudely greeted by a young lady who firmly told me that they do not open until 7:30 AM. I asked if I could grab a seat and wait the extra five minutes until they were officially open and she told me that I had to go outside and wait. So I went outside and at 7:30 I walked in and started to look for some pastries to have. The staff seem to be disturbed that I was the first customer right at 7:30 and I was not even greeted friendly when I paid for my pastries. I then called afterwards to talk to a manager to share my experience and another snooty girl, probably the same one that I originally dealt with, said that she was sorry for the experience, but there was no sincerity in her tone of voice and then hung up. Won’t be back to...
