El Barrio Fresh Market — Local services in Elk Grove Township

I've come here a few times over the years. This is a small grocer with a good variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Their other items in the market are limited. But, they have an enormous deli/meat section off to the east side of the market.

While I have not ever bought meat there, they have a great variety of items. Aside from cuts of meats, they also have some prepared meats - fajitas, taco meat, etc. All look good as do the prices.

What brings me here most times is their Tuesday and Thursday taco special They offer three enormous tacos and a drink for $5. The line is pretty long if you get their right at noon. But, it moves quickly. The menu is up on the wall behind the counter and it was blocked until I got up close to it. They have chicken to beef, pork, and chorizo. They also have skirt steak and some other higher end cuts, but these are not available with the special.

It's a great deal. There are a dozen or so tables in the room. I think that most people get their food to go. The tacos are served wrapped in foil to keep them...

I just want to share my pleasant experience on this store. The store is not the usual big and wide grocery store but this is nice, clean, well-organized and well stocked and of course due to its small size and well organization of products, it is easy to move, find, and pick everything I need. Produce section is wide with variety of fresh and good quality produce and that goes along as well with their meat and deli which are all also fresh and in a good quality. Everything is nice in here but the store is not recommendable for a literally big grocery shopping still, this is a really nice option for few groceries shopping and the prices are fair and reasonable. They also got prepared foods at the back which served different foods like tacos. I bought a few and it taste really good plus the price is fair too. Their tacos honestly could pass for a food from some fast food or restaurant so if you would go in here, I also recommend to try their prepared foods specifically...

I have been coming here since I was a little kid & though it is changed owners quite a few times I must admit these new owners are amazing I love how the owner has a beautiful relationship with his customers he is kind always smiling always asking if there's anything he can do better or work on he is a lovely & understanding person thank you so much to the owner for being so kind-hearted & encouraging I can remember one time when my son was young he knocked a bottle of sauce off the shelf by accident & made a bit of a mess & instead of being upset or saying anything mean he said no worries accidents happen kids are just kids & we have to let them make mistakes so they can do better in the future though it was a little bit of a mess he was very kind to my son we will never forget his kindness thank you so much for being such a great person we need more people like you...
