Taco Bell — Restaurant in Elk Grove Township

Some of the WORST service I have EVER received. We came to Taco Bell after being on a train for an hour. My niece, who doesn’t even live in the state of IL was completely mistreated by Esmeralda C. My niece ordered ahead of time so that she could use her Taco Bell reward. When we got up to the intercom after waiting for 20 mins and having some lady cut in line 3 cars up, Esmeralda insisted that we didn’t place an order, even though we were showing her the proof. She completely mistreated us. She basically called us liars about the order we placed when they clearly had given our order to the person that cut us. She even tried to tell me niece that she’s “seen her before in line” even though my niece lives in the state of WISCONSIN AND HAD NEVER BEEN TO THE ESTABLISHMENT EVER AND WE HAD JUST GOTTEN OFF A DAMN TRAIN AND SAT IN LINE FOR 20 MINUTES. After arguing about it at the window and Esmeralda COMPLETELY ignoring our proof of the order, she made us circle back around and wait at the end of the line when we had already placed our order and was told to come to the window. Than she tried to claim she was giving us “free food” even though we paid for the damn food that they were refusing to give us. They wanted my niece to pay double. I than asked for the managers last name and Esmeralda refused to give it to me in order to file a formal complaint. I even called the establishment for the managers name and the employee refused to give it to me. They didn’t even make our order correctly even though it was a mess up in THERE system. I will never come to this establishment again for the way we were treated. The so called manager slammed the window on us 3 times and kept ignoring us and didn’t want to look at our proof of the order. Incredibly unprofessional. Do not come to this establishment. Great location, friendly staff. Decor was a little older, but the staff made up for it. The bathrooms were pretty nice before I went in there. They're probably like that most of the time. Might as well have just had a kid in there if you know what I'm sayin'. Idk. Good location. Locals seemed friendly. I probably lost them some business from my visit, so I thought maybe this review could help 'em out. I mean, I didn't do anything illegal. It's just that I'm not that much of a puking guy and more of a, well, y'know guy. Honestly apologize to anyone who had to use the bathroom after me for the next few days. I went back there a few days later and couldn't stand the smell, so that kinda' makes me think it was worse for other people. The smell I mean. I'm not entirely sure the door has hinges after that. I needed to use the door for support. Prolly why the bathroom smelled so bad after, the door prolly wasn't able to block the smell. Idk. It was bad. I wish I had been able to keep it in just the toilet but after that filled up I used the urinal and sink. It was really bad. My cat smelled like it for like a week. Really sorry to anyone else who had to smell that. The mirror prolly got the worst of it. Prolly the sink, actually. Idk. I didn't even know how to wipe after that. It got everywhere. It's kind of a blur, but I think I used my sweater to clean up. I only think it was my sweater cuz I was looking for my sweater last week and couldn't find it. Couldn't find my shoes either. It sounds strange to say this but not all Taco Bell joints are the same. Yes they have the same menu for the most part and you can get cheap (cheapish rather) food that resembles the American Suburbia take on Hispanic fast food. Most certainly all will give you either heart burn, acid reflux or irritable bowl syndrome. Possibly all three if you're lucky. That being said though there are some that are for sure better than their peers. The staff seems to be friendlier and happier to assist you. The food seems to be hotter and even tastes fresh compared to the rest of the stores. You order is always right and there never seems to be any issues with missing items or the wrong things in your bag/box. Its almost as if you stumble across a Taco Bell holy grail store. Those stores are few and far between and should be appreciated for their efforts and hard work. The hiring manager and training manager should for sure get credit for being on point and doing their jobs very well. The staff should be acknowledged for doing the extra steps that seem to be skipped or just not taught at their sister stores. Those extra steps make a huge difference between a store that is par for the course and one that is crushing it. This Taco Bell is one of those "Holy Grail" stores. I'm not sure if this is a corporate training store or not. If not then corporate needs to get there, study and learn from these guys and gals. A nod in Appreciation to the management at this location for doing your job correctly. Even more so though a huge thankyou to the staff for doing their jobs and doing it well.
