Staples store #1634 Rolling Meadows, Illinois has lost my business due to rude and unprofessional staff Sergio and Ruby. I have been going to this location for 13 years. However today is the last day I will ever shop here, they have lost my business forever. I came in to do a return and then to purchase the correct item. It sounds real simple but believe me it turned out to be a horrible experience. Ruby did my return and she was about to ring up the correct item when she and Sergio started helping another customer who had step to the side. I didn't mind them helping him it just seemed that what they were helping him with did not require two people. I patiently waited and waited and then at this point I said excuse me can someone ring me up that is when Sergio told me that they were busy and that somebody will eventually get to me. I said hey I'm a customer and I said I don't like how you talk to me I just wanted to remind you that I was still here because I've been waiting. He said again someone will get to you and I said I'm going to call corporate he went to the back I asked Ruby for his name because he was in the back I couldn't see his name tag Ruby refused to give me his name. She called the store manager Neil. He completed my transaction I told him what happened and by this time Sergio came back up to the front and was still trying to talk mess to me even with his manager right there and he and Neil had to tell him to just be quiet. I did not get an apology from anyone and Is the one that actually told me Sergio's name because Ruby refused to give me his name. Sergio yelling at me telling me that they were busy when all I was trying to do is to get him or Ruby to ring me up because he didn't take both of them to wait on this one guy he yelled at me it was unprovoked and nasty disrespectful I am done with staples they've...
Read moreI ordered business cards. Employees notified me that the business card cutter was not working. I asked them to print me the cards anyway and said I'd cut them myself. When I arrived, I stood next to the counter for 5 minutes while an employee chatted with his girl(friend) while she ate snacks at the checkout. It took them 5 minutes to realize I was a customer. I initially thought that the girl was a customer waiting in line. No. She was just eating snacks with the young man working at the counter. (Both employees working at the store also did not have a uniform - which left me even more confused - I didn't even know if they were working or just hanging out in the print center). The other employee was using a MANUAL CUTTER to cut employee ID cards for another customer. I asked why he could not use a manual cutter for my order. He stumbled with his words and then told me that the paper was "too thick". He was using an industrial-sized manual paper cutter. How can he cut ID cards but not business cards? This was poor service and a poor excuse. Some of the business cards printed kind of odd (the color was blotchy), so whoever printed them gave me extras. That was nice of them. But still (I will never return to Staples after this). I'm finding it comical now reading the other reviews about the print services and business cards at this store. I should have read them before, but this was...
Read moreWe stopped by to look at office chairs for our student returning to college. Found one and went to checkout. The clerk says, ‘if you download the Staples mobile app today, you will get a $25 gift card.’
So, I did. But when I try to sign-in with my Staples Reward account via the app, I get an error message. Then the clerk says I probably need to create a new account. That didn't make sense to me, but I followed the instructions.
Another error message. Another clerk suggests I try with the existing account again. Error message.
I politely asked to speak with the manager thinking they might better understand how the system/incentive program worked. His response, 'sorry I can only help with things in-store.' I guess his responsibility for the Staples brand stops at the door to the physical store? (He also said the incentive wasn't actually a gift card, but $25 worth of Staples rewards points, so we were also initially misled.)
We did go ahead and buy the chair, but without the promised gift card or rewards points. But I immediately deleted the app from my phone. And it will be a long time before I visit Staples, at the store or...
