TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY STRAIGHT UP JUST LIE TO YOU LIKE YOU ARE STUPID. I live about 40 minutes away, and saw online that there was a killer deal on an open box version of the TV I wanted at this specific store. There were at least 5 closer Best Buys, but the deal was great, so I decided to drive there to look into it. When I showed up, the employee (I believe his name was Oscar) went to check, and then came back and said they didn't have it. The guy didn't seem to be telling the truth, so I asked if he could look into it a little further. He went to go look for it again, and was stopped by a manager (Ray) and the two exchanged a few words, I could hear Ray say something about it "being wrapped", then he comes back to say he sold it yesterday. The salesman was clearly just trying to get rid of me by lying, so I called him out on it, and he got angry and started yelling at me, and said to go to the front. I asked specifically who I should talk to, and he just walked away shouting at me. I went to the front to ask who to talk to, and the manager Ray who the salesman talked to, came over. He tried to BS me and say that it was a "system error". I called his bluff and let him know that I was in AV sales for over 10 years, and know when I'm being lied to. He said that he'd have to investigate further, but was pretty sure it was a system error. I asked him to investigate further. He then comes back about 10 minutes later and states that there was a second open box sticker for the demo created and that they only had new ones currently (even though he told me they had 4 in stock, so why would they sell the demo?). I then asked if he could mark a new one down a little bit, as I drove 40 minutes specifically for that open box (the price difference was 400 bucks less, and I wasnt asking to have it fully marked down for that price). He stated there was nothing he could do at all, and stated he'd check to see if he could mark down a different, comparable OLED TV. After a few minutes, he said they couldn't mark anything else down for me. While he was doing so, the same exact TV was being sold, along with a second 65 inch to another customer. Ray then stated he canceled the open box sticker, and after refreshing, the online open box deal was gone. From the looks of it, they used the open box sticker on a brand new version of that TV to close the deal on the 2 tvs. I then asked who I could speak with above Ray, because it just seemed like I was being lied to. He stated that there was no one above him, and that there was no store manager at that store, that they just had one regional manager for 4 different stores. Whatever you do, do not go to this store, the customer service is terrible.

Best Buy is the only real place to go for electronics in Elk Grove. The past few times I've been there the staff have seemed less than friendly and unhappy to be working there... with one exception. A gentlemen by the name of Andre works in the camera area and I've found him to be very professional and super knowledgable about camera/drone/software etc. He's a great resource and I believe he adds huge value to customers. One other thing I'd like to note; They will match other companies prices... however there are several conditions with that offer. For example: If the price match is from AMAZON, it must be supplied directly by AMAZON. So be careful if you walk in thinking you'll get a price match. One last point: I've been to Best Buy numerous times to purchase something only to find out they would have to order it online to be delivered in 7 to 10 days. So i go to Amazon and have it in two days. I think the only real value of having a brick and mortar is to actually have products at the store, so i think Best Buy could improve on this.

We shop at best buy alot for our electronic needs/ wants. Our experience recently was very disappointing. They were very understaffed and we could not get any help for a really long time. When we were finally noticed standing by the printers, a very nice worker came over to us, but she was not knowledgeable about the printers. She did try to help us, but we ultimately figured it out for ourselves. There was an old man in a wheelchair screaming the F word as he wheeled himself out the door while we waited in line. The cashier who checked us out acted as if we were bothering him. I couldn't wait to get out of there, and we've never had this experience before. I'm not giving up on BB, but this experience had us frustrated as heck!

1/27/22 @ 5:30pm. Husband and I went to BB to purchase a new phone. We had done research on the Pixel 6 & the Samsung 21's. Circled the counter a few times and we stumbled onto the Motorola Edge 21. Orig price $699, On sale for $499. Circled a few more times and finally decided to go with that phone. There was 1 in stock. The rep went off to retrieve it and when she returned she said, "I have bad news...kinda". "I don't have a new one in stock BUT I do have two out of box available". She gave us the one that was in better shape. She explained that 'out of box' meant that it was "used, 14 days or under". Furthermore, because it was a return and the first owner paid a restock fee of $45.00, there would be no re-stocking fee. The real selling point was, that because it was used out of box, it was now marked down to $341.00 plus tax. As she said, "you get a 700 dollar phone for basically 350... half price. Sold. Brought it home last night around 7pm. Started the data transfer later that night. In the meantime, we started reviewing the spec on the phone, Oddly, it did not quiet line up with what we saw. There was a SD card and she said there wasn't one, it was black and not blue like the floor model, online specs said it was 8GB of ram and this one was 6GB of ram. My husband took the info off the phone and Googled it. We realized it was actually a Motorola Edge 20 instead. This phone is 2 years old and only allowed 1 Android update (to Android 11). It updated as soon as we turned it on. The camera is not as good as the new one and the phone is set to discontinue as Motorola is supposed to release a newer version later this year (from what we read online). It is 6GB of ram vs 8GB. Plus, it only has a 2 yr security update which ends 4/22. 1/28/22, We started a BB chat session. From 12:59p to 1:47p I was on the session and transferred 4 times. The end conclusion was, Per rep: "B. Richardson: I did check with my team In this case we would request you to visit the store they will help you with this concern". Tried calling too, conclusion was the same. So, when I got back to my home town of Elk Grove, I headed over to the BB we bought it from. Explained the situation, we were told we were buying a used 21 at a great price, but instead we got a used 20 at well, the higher end of a used price. After explaining this to 3 more people, the end result was basically ...oops, we can return it for you and waive the re-stocking fee. They declined to make good on the deal they offered the night before and they declined to provide any further mark down on the one they actually sold us . Once this one is wiped clean tonight it will be returned and we will purchase a phone from another company. Disappointing that a large company like BB wouldn't provide some type of customer service resolution. Afterall, we considered BB first to purchase or phone, we are returning customers, we spent time transferring all the data to this phone only to find out it was the wrong phone and will now have to spend time moving it back and wiping the phone, we spent time with customers service via chat, telephone and in person to resolve this and were absolutely willing to work with BB if they worked with us even after it was there sell's person that made...

If I could give their Geek Squad service a negative star rating I would. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life! My experience with them was an absolute nightmare!!!

I brought in a laptop that was new to me to be set up. The tech assured me they would get it all checked out. He found that it needed a new hard drive when they ran diagnostics on it. I bought an SSD that he suggested from Best Buy and they called me the next day and told me it required a special type of SSD. I then had to order that one on my own and wait for it to arrive and return the old one. I went to pick my laptop up in the evening after receiving 6 different messages or emails from them saying it was ready to pick up. A tech brought out my laptop and it would not power on. When I asked why he said it's probably because they leave them plugged in in the back, which makes no sense. When I plugged in the charger the battery status read "0% not charging". When I asked why I as the customer was just now discovering this the tech was dumbfounded. The battery had been fine when I dropped it off. I spoke to a manager in the store at that time and requested the $200 I paid for the hardware install and full tech support plan for a year on my devices as I no longer felt comfortable entrusting them with my items. He said they could only refund me $60 initially and after more heated discussion he told me the only thing they could do was take it apart and refund my money.

I decided to come back to speak with the actual manager of geek squad since this member was rude in his interactions with me and did not seem knowledgeable. When speaking with the Geek Squad manager, after having to go into the store as she never returned my call, she told me there was absolutely nothing that they could do for me and that because the initial report did not say anything about the battery they would not have gone looking for it! She was rude and arguementative and was unwilling to work with me at all! When I brought up the other manager's offer to take out the piece they installed she said they could not do that because they would have to charge me for the labor to take it out which would cost the same!

After calling the corporate number and getting transferred around nearly 10 times they said the only thing I could do was talk to the store general manager. After an attempt to talk to him in person, requesting he call me, and calling multiple times I never received a call back. A week later I finally got in touch with him and he was defensive, demeaning, and raising his voice on the phone. He finally agreed to let them take it apart and refund the money I was owed. When I went to pick it up for the last time they lost my charger! It took them 20 minutes to locate it because they never labeled it!

I then took my computer to the OfficeMax in Davis and received excellent customer service and had a new battery and the SSD installed for $90, less than half the price! I had my computer back to me in a matter of a few days vs the 7+ days I was told by Geek Squad.

Geek Squad is a total waste of your time, energy, money, and sanity, take your business to a place where they will value you...
