The UPS Store — Local services in Elk Grove

Used UPS store to ship to UK, got great service to box & ship items on 12/17 box not received by family yet! Had to be sent USPS as UPS does not have international delivery in UK. So many corrections on original label needed to be changed (spelling of names) but of course Computer system not working so no updated label. Used original with scratched out and hand corrected. As I was there after 4 pm shipping wouldn't happen until following day, I was told at 10 am. Tried to track using number given, no updates of movement, plus I was tracking wrong system(not USPS as I truly thought I could track UPS, since I was using their service and paid ALOT) ended up calling store letting them know no info updated & at that time I was told that I now had an updated tracking number, since after I left she (UPS clerk) was able to make corrections and new label with new tracking number was printed and put on package. Had I not called, how would I have known this? ! Anyway, I had to go into the store the following day to ask them for an update, and it was then that I was told I needed to be tracking USPS & not UPS. Ok package received in UK on 12/19. Now working with family in UK to track down package. I'm kicking myself for ever using UPS Store ! I went to USPS Post Office yesterday for information & advice, they have been the most helpful. They were SHOCKED at how much I paid to send. I paid $80. more to send that package using UPS. My message is to all to save yourself $ & grief and use USPS (which I usually do but NO, used UPS because I thought I'd get better &...

I just went into this location at 10:50 am. The kid was there by himself and unfortunately, when i asked him if he was a notary my phone rang because my son is in the hospital. I had to take the call. He was standing in front of me, facing me and looking down, I tried to get the young man’s attention three times, first I said “excuse me” then I said, “sir” then I said “hey you” the kid looked up at me, closed his book and said I’m not gonna do your notary for you. “You yelled at me, I’m not helping you, you can’t talk to me like that” and he walked away, I did not yell at him. I was trying to get his attention because it seemed he could not hear me or he was ignoring me. If somebody is that sensitive when you try to get there attention and they think they’re being yelled at they should not be working with the public. All I did was try to get his attention because he wasn’t paying attention when I was calling for him. This is the worst location and every time I go there which is very frequently It’s very rarely a pleasant experience this guy is over 6 foot tall, very skinny and dark hair. They need to fire him. I mailed a table to myself from The UPS Store #4298 in Elk Grove to my residence in Texas. This table had been in my family for generations.I boxed the the table myself and I ask the lady at the counter if there was anything else I needed to do. She told me everything looked fine but she was going to to put a little extra tape on the box. I wanted to insure it and she said that would be a good idea. So I insured it for $500. I left The UPS Store feeling good that I would receive it back home in Texas. Well I did. In pieces. I filed the claim with UPS and they told me it was in the hands of the store that originally mailed it. I called the store and got the manager. She said there was nothing they could do for me. I asked about the insurance and she told me the insurance was for missing packages not damaged packages. This is a load of BS. The wor st UPS Store ever, Do not take your packages here. There are other UPS Stores in Elk Grove. I know they will probably delete this comment from FB but I am contacting Yelp, Google, and the BBB. To bad UPS corporate won't stand up...
