The Approach at Anchor Lanes — Local services in Elkhart Lake

“The Approach” is a great addition to Elkhart Lake. They did a great job with the renovation of the space; the bar looks great, and the layout of the bays and lounge areas are well done. The staff was friendly and helpful as there is a bit of set up needed before you play. The aG simulators provide a great experience, on par with other top-notch simulator facilities in Sheboygan Co. You can choose from several options like the driving range, target games, and plenty of world-renowned golf courses. A nice touch is the app you download; it saves your profile, with many nice features: hitting stats, saved “hero shots”, and a stroke-by-stroke review of your rounds of golf. I wished the system showed your hitting stats (ball speed, swing speed, smash factor, etc.) while playing on a course (only available in the driving range setting) but otherwise a great experience, I will...

Honestly, pretty disappointed. The technology looked cool at first, but the sensors were super inconsistent — one swing would register, the next wouldn’t, even if it was solid contact. The staff seemed more interested in chatting behind the counter than helping troubleshoot. We waited almost 20 minutes past our reservation time with no apology or urgency.

The space itself felt cramped, and the environment didn’t match the price point. You’re better off going to the range or trying a different simulator spot with more reliable equipment and actual customer service.
