Train station is located in a very deserted atmosphere in Elyria. There is no station only a glass old fashioned bus booth which keeps the rain off your head but is open to the elements. It would be easy for something to happen to you while you were waiting for your train as most of the trains that come through here are in the middle of the night. Very poorly lit and has a creepy feel to it. I would pick up my train in either the Cleveland station or better yet if you're headed west in the Sandusky station. Both of these locations have a dedicated building with heat and bathrooms and safety. It's a shame the city of Elyria can't...
Read moreYou have to have a sense of humor and great appreciation that in the cold winters we locals can hop a train to Chicago or DC from a platform reminiscent of the 50s in middle America. That said I had WiFi in route to Chicago, but not on Capitol Limited return. Leg room is GREAT, and sleeper a wonderful accommodation. I give Amtrak 5 stars for hanging in there toprovide metal-on-metal environmentally much less impact than air or auto.
