I'm still not sure Andres Center is better than nothing. For some people, I suppose so. However, a place that is only for the poor and will literally only help you by first giving you a diagnosis and no exceptions, whether you actually have that disorder or not that stays on your medical records for life affecting everything...is ultimately suspect and harmful in my opinion (and in my experience). It is not okay to view the socioeconomically disadvantaged (and often recovering addicts, let's be honest) as guinea pigs for new pharmaceuticals. It is not okay to prescribe antihistamines as sleeping pills/anxiety meds and give amphetamines to kids with no truly thorough evaluation and never offering any kind of therapy/counseling whatsoever. This is NOT harm reduction. I cannot blame the employees themselves as I know they don't make the rules or policies and many are there to reduce harm within a harmful system.
