I was somewhat shocked to find out that the expensive glasses i purchased from Emory Eyecare had rust on the magnet which is part of the frame. The rust was so bad that the hard layer of rust flaked off when i cleaned it.
I called them and they ordered a frame for me, no hassle and i was pleased. Until the frames came in today and i went to get them.
Only one of the two magnets rusted (one on each side), so i was surprised when they returned to the waiting room with my original glasses telling me that the MFG changed the lense size and my lenses did not fit the new style. They suggested it was due to sweat and that i should put some finger nail polish on the magnet.
Now i dont know about any of you but i dont sweat just on one side of my face and logically if one magnet is fine and one is rusted then there is something wrong with the magnet, its only been 6 months since i got them and i expect them to be flawless at least for the first year.
If both magnets would have rusted i would have agreed it was sweat, but only one did, so to me that says something is defective.
What concerns me is that rust particles can come loose and if the rust comes loose my eyeball is right there and i could end up with rust particles in my eye which is not good.
Personally i think they got shut down on the warranty and decided to just pass it off to me to take care of it. Why else would they just give up so quickly on getting them replaced, they just gave up. And to me the logical reason is that they cant warranty them either because the company does not have a good warranty or it was an oddball model that they just wanted to sell to someone and not carry anymore.
I might still call the MFG and complaint about their product, but for now i will say that i am not impressed at all with Emory Eyecare service after the sale, its not just bad its non existant.
I wont be returning to them for my next frames. And if i get rust in my eye and it damages my eyeball or my eyesight, they will be hearing from my attorney.
UPDATE: they did reach out to me today and could not find my frames anywhere, they offered to replace the frames free of charge with my same lenses. That is all i wanted was the offer to make things right. Im not going to do that just because i think i can clean these up myself. However as i said i just wanted the offer from them as good business outreach to a customer. So i am satisfied and will let the issue go. :) Thank you for reaching out to me and for...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars I would, I have been a long time patient never had any issues until here recently, PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR INSURANCE POLICIES,THEY WILL DEFINITELY TRY TO GET OVER ON YOU, IN HOPES THAT YOU WANT CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY, I was charged because my " insurance either pays for contacts or glasses not both when I was there for a specific contact visit" because I purchase my own glasses online and when I called with my insurance company on the phone to verify my benefits I had to be refunded money after the office gave me the run around as to why that statement was made and I was incorrectly charged, thennnn I got a two text messages (one after I made the appointment and one from yesterday to confirm the said appointment) for a 245 appointment confirmation for my child whom showed up at his 245 appointment at 243 waited to even be addressed for 5 minutes just to be turned around, and the EXCUSE was our system has 230 and we have to go by that, we can control what our confirmation text messages send out, I hope she knows how stupid she sounded for that statement, it's not a flaw in the system it is a flaw in the airheads that are running it just pathetic. Sorry to the provider for the people that are helping with...
Read moreThe doctor himself is great, but the front desk lady is consistently rude and unprofessional. After paying my bill in full for the exam and glasses (which wasn't cheap btw), I wasn't treated well by her at all. She talked to me like I was an idiot and a major inconvenience who owes them money. Unfortunately this isn't the first time I've had a bad experience here. I paid full price for new frames, and 2 weeks later they gave me the broken display frames. When I politely brought it to their attention about getting broken frames, they said they'd order me a new frame. But what they ended up doing is replacing only the side piece and used a screw that was way too long (and the wrong color) leaving a jagged edge on it. When I brought that to their attention they just sanded it down and called it good. Yet for some reason I came back...that was stupid on my part, and I won't be repeating that mistake.
The front desk seems disorganized and chaotic. We got voicemails for other patients complete with how much their bill was. It just seems like the place is in constant turmoil. I know that everyone has an off day, but it seems like every time I come here is an off day. I'm so done...
