Alright so we live in the desert and we literally planned this trip to Escondido, for my son whom is a huge Thomas the tank engine fan to go to the 'Totally Thomas' store located within the mall. This y'all is 2+ hour trip and that's not hitting traffic! The mall itself is quite large (3 Floors). In the center of the mall there are escalators with mirrors that make it look really trippy but super cool. There was also a Full on Target which had its own section that took up 3 Floors. I actually purchased a couple of super cute dresses from a self made dress store (heck if I can remember the name tho). Oh and the mall actually had a working train that puffed along the 2nd floor. The kids liked that. Oh and on the ground level there were motorized bikes (I guess you'd call them) disguised as different animals. This was really neat except there only seemed to be young children driving them and personally I think the motorized vehicle went to fast especially for younger kids to be driving them around. There was also a really cool comic store and the we also went to the candy store but the only cool thing there was that you could purchase just about ANY Color M&M. But I never saw an actual Food Court, 🤔 restaurants, a wetzel pretzel, smoothie & juice carts but I'm not recalling a food court. Parking was easy and we were able to get a close spot by the cheesecake factory. But the Totally Thomas store was a total let down. We were lead to believe there was An Abundance of Thomas merchandise and Yes there was Thomas Merchandise but it was focused on The Wooden Railway only. So there were about 6 bookshelf's of Thomas merchandise and over priced in My Opinion. However my son did purchase a DVD of Thomas he had never before seen as well as a VHS of Thomas he also had not seen that came with a Wooden Gold Thomas train. Overall the trip was fine, no traffic, the mall was just an ordinary mall and wasn't crowded. But the purpose of the trip ended up being a huge disappointment because we expected So Much More from the Totally...
Read moreIf I could give zero to the security department of the mall, I would be happy to rate them zero. My husband fell asleep while we were shopping inside Target in the mall, and two security guards approached him and told him not to sleep in the mall. My husband respected that and left to accompany us. While waiting, he decided to pay for a massage chair in the mall to relax without worrying that someone would bother him. However, the two security guards approached him again while the machine was running and told him not to sleep. He was actually not sleeping; he was relaxing in the paid massage chair. Where is your respect for your shoppers? He paid for services to relax, and you kept bothering him. He paid for 30 minutes, and after only 3 minutes, you were calling his attention again, telling him not to sleep. Who told you he would sleep? How did you jump to the conclusion that he would sleep again in the massage chair? And the sad thing is they never stopped. They waited for the machine to stop so they could ask my husband again. We need justice for this. I spent $300 in the mall and only got this kind of treatment. I talked to the head of security about this, and they told me they were just doing their job because a lot of homeless people sleep in the mall. My point is, even if homeless people do sleep in the massage chair but they pay for it, it is not right and just to bother them. My husband was wearing nice, neat designer clothes, and he paid for the massage chair. Why did you need...
Read moreEdit: I thought I would check it out again...because things change. It didn't. Its still the most ghetto mall in San Diego. There is so much security that its ridiculous. It makes you comfortable when they stare at you while you shop. It makes me wonder how many people try to shoplift here to increase security that much. There was an alarm going off at Macys too...? Definately makes me want to bring little ones here. Three floors, small hallways (doesn't help that a train goes through there.) Lots of stores that all sell pretty much the same things. I also like to go to other places than the mall but there is literally nothing else around except the mall. People are also always surprised there is NO MOVIE THEATER!
Horton, fashion valley, and mission valley are better malls. My favorite is in El Cajon. Its a huge, one floor mall. There is a nice theater, better jeans, and better kids clothes. It has the kiddy train that goes through large hallways, animal car rides to ride up and down another hallway, a huge kiddy area, and a huge bungie thing. Its a great place to relax and shop for all ages. The best thing...their security is so good that you don't even know they are there! Think about it...do you see security all over at theme parks? No. Why? People don't like it. Also, be cautious of the great reviews. Most of them sound like...
