Well, looks like Kroger is having a grand opening. Not sure what justifies grand opening but here’s what I observed today. They bought new carts, big plastic carts. All the small carts are gone. They cleaned the floor which did brighten the store. I had a list of items I was going to purchase but the prices, yikes! Way higher than Target or Walmart. Like dollars different for some products I checked. I would still recommend just purchasing their lost leaders and head down the street to Target for your basic groceries.
This is my first review: 1 star at the time. I used to love Kroger. I did 80% of my grocery shopping there however now I’m down to only buying the digital deals and only when they’re really an extreme value. When I go into Kroger sometimes there are carts, sometimes not. I can never find the small carts unless there happens to be one in the cart rack outside and I bring it in myself. The majority of the carts have something wrong with them so you walk around with all kinds of shakes, squeals and screeches coming from the wheels.
Let’s just say they have the products in stock and I head to the front to give them my hard earned money that’s where the real nightmare begins. First, prepare to wait. There’s one maybe two lanes open with a person in them but the bigger issue I have is, if you expect me to check out myself, have the freaking lanes opened.
Today when I went I waited in line at the self checkout long enough for my ice cream to get squishy. When it was finally my turn, the register kept saying remove all my items when I hadn’t even started scanning. Where was the employee, not there to assist. Now I had to wait again to checkout my 9 items. I should have just said screw it and left.
Bottom line, I seriously don’t think it’s worth the time and frustration even for the hot priced items.. Kroger, I’m breaking up with you. It’s not me, it’s...
Read moreJust moved to the area, I’ve had 2 shopping experiences at this Kroger, 1 in store and 1 grocery pick up. Based on both, we will definitely be finding another grocery store. It seems like they are extremely short staffed which is affecting the shopping experience for customers. Let’s start with my most recent experience. This was a grocery pickup order. It was a mess. None of the produce was fresh, the bag of green beans was going bad, the strawberries had lots of bruising, not good. I asked for no substitutions. That was not noted and there were a ton of substitutions with no price matching and even wrong sizes of items which resulted in over paying about $20. They gave me the sheet of out of stock items and it said they had no American cheese or turkey from the deli. I questioned the girl because of course they are not out of turkey and cheese. She said they could go back and get it. I told her not to worry about it, but what I gathered from that is that they just didn’t take the time or care to stop by the deli and instead just put the items on the out of stock list. There is no convenience in this since now I have to make an extra trip to the store to get the items that were “out of stock” but not out of stock. My first time here, I shopped in store. Walking through the store wasn’t so bad, but checkout was chaotic. I had a large order, almost $400 and was expected to bag them all myself. I guess the gentleman checking was a manager, he had lots of associates asking questions and a few rude customers demanding his attention on promotional items rung incorrectly. I gave the customer a look and he eventually stopped badgering the manager until I was...
Read morei am just now getting around to doing this review. i went to Kroger on Thursday, Sept 14, what a bad experience! I went to self checkout to a cashier, her name is Dianne. This was in the afternoon and I got most of my groceries done. My register stopped, would not let me scan anymore items. She came over and said it was froze up so she would send it to her register, suspend it and then come back and put it back on my register so I can finish my items. I was waiting and waiting. Dianne had called for a supervisor or for the head person over the loud speaker several times. She was embarrassed and kept apologizing. I told her it was not her fault. I waited and finally sat on the side where my griceries were at. I stood up at one point and saw her waving at a lady behind customer service who she said was the head supervisor she paged her by the lady just looked at her. I had stood up at this point and saw this. She said I am going to call for a manager and again apologized. I asked for her head supervisors and managers name and she said Nancy and Steve, but she said Steve may be in the back and not hear the page. . I asked her why is this taking them so long to help you? She said Maam, I do not know. they took my bar code from me that I need to fix this. I was getting really upset. I sat about 15-20 minutes. I felt so bad for her that they would not help, She finally went down to get help after many times of her being ignore. The idea of this is how the cashiers are being treated is awful. I will not come back to this store. I warn anyone else, do not go to...
