I had the misfortune of visiting Laxmi Jewelers recently, and I must say, it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with any business. The owner named Ambika, who clearly lacks basic customer service skills, was arrogant, rude, and outright aggressive. It’s beyond me how she’s been in business for over 18 years when she has no understanding of how to treat customers. Her attitude was beyond disappointing. If you’re a regular customer, she’s all smiles and politeness, but if you’re not, you’re treated like you’re not even worth her time. I felt completely disregarded when I took a little longer to look at the products. She acted as if I was just there to “window shop” and not actually interested in buying anything, which couldn’t have been further from the truth.
What’s more frustrating is that this isn’t just my experience. I’ve spoken to others who’ve had similar encounters with her. She has no idea how her behavior is perceived by customers. She is under the illusion that she is loved, respected, and appreciated by most people, but she has no idea about her actual reputation in the market. Given her behavior, she deserves to face legal consequences for the way she treats her customers. She is so filled with pride and aggression that it’s almost unbearable. Despite her 18 years in the business, her skills in handling customers are nonexistent. I honestly can’t understand how her employees tolerate her. It must be incredibly difficult to work in such a toxic environment.
I initially went there hoping to support a fellow Nepali business, but my experience was so bad that I’d never recommend this place to anyone. If I could give zero stars, I would.
I would suggest avoiding this jewelry store unless you want to be treated like you’re not important. There are plenty of other places out there where you’ll be treated with respect...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at this shop. I went in to purchase a bangle set, but since the size needed to be adjusted, I made a deposit and was told to come back later for pickup. When I returned, one of the bangles had been visibly damaged during resizing — it looked terrible.
When I politely raised the issue, a woman named Ambika came out and, instead of addressing my concern, she completely ignored what I was saying and began yelling at me. I was shocked and hurt by the way I was treated. I was alone, and her aggressive and unprofessional behavior made me feel unsafe. She continued to scream, curse, and bully me until I had no choice but to leave the store.
This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I would strongly advise others to think twice before doing business here. No one deserves to be treated this way — especially not when they’re simply asking for...
Read moreThe older lady was one of the rudest employees I have ever dealt with in my entire life. She treated me nice for about 30 seconds and then as I wanted to look at another item she quickly transformed into an aggressive and demeaning person. I felt like I was a kid being scolded, she made me feel shameful, like I did something wrong.
Their prices were lower than another store but I would never give this store a penny of my hard earned money. I thought she treated me this way because of the color of my skin but after looking at other reviews, this woman apparently treats a lot of people like this. I imagine she has to be the owner otherwise management would have fired her a long time ago.
There was a young woman working there at the same time and she did not talk much but she seemed...
