I do not know why it took me so long to check the little place out. However, my wife and I found ourselves wanting something different and this was a home run. Its tucked away in a small strip center between a laundry and a barbershop. Walking in is a small counter, drink fridge like you would see in a donut shop, 4 tables for two, a big Television with the soccer game playing at the end of the dining area and two water coolers blowing air around the room. It is very clean and simple accommodations. Most of all we were met by an unassuming and friendly face at the counter. When we said this was our first visit and we needed help ordering, instantly a big smile and kind advice was offered.
We ordered two Philly cheese steak combo meals. That comes with fries and a 12 oz canned drink from the beverage cooler. The total was fifteen dollars. Our order was given to the cook through a small window behind the register.
The kind man at the counter served us at the table and insisted he bring us our choice of drinks to the table. Our meals arrived in red plastic baskets with a paper liner. The sandwich was wrapped in tinfoil and surrounded by golden cooked fries hot out of the fryer.
The first bite was the fries and wow, I'd like to know where they get their fries, they were better than most places that serve burgers.
The sandwich was hot and steam rolled out as I peeled back the foil. The smell was intoxicating, the bread was crisped and crackled on the outside while soft and hot on the inside. The filling of chopped steak, onions, peppers, mushrooms and cheese were incredible.
We laughed and commented on every bite. My wife even asked if we could come back and eat there again for dinner.
I cant say enough about this shop except it lives up to its...
Read moreI love this restaurant. It's a small hidden gem. Majority of their customers order for pick up. Although there is a couple of tables if you want to dine inn. Personally I get mine to go because I am so full after eating just half of my philly I dont want to move. Lol. This is my go to place whenever I get fast food. Specially now that their open until 9pm. Their philly sub is outstanding. What makes this place the best is the respect they have for their business and each other that positive energy fills the establishment so when you walk through the doors you feel welcomed & appreciated and if you're me you feel like family. I've only tried their philly subs so I can't truly give a rating on anything other then that. But my friends and family have expressed nothing but good reviews on other dishes they've tried. I've been eating here since it opened and can honestly say. I've never had a bad philly from them like I've experienced at other places. It's perfect every time. You definitely should try it if you are hungry and near Main & Hardwood...
Read moreWhen you approach this place DO NOT be turned off by the appearance of the local area, it is old and dated and the inside is a no frills, barren atmosphere. Once you're passed that there is a very friendly owner that works the front and serves (at least in the DFW area) one of the best Philly Cheesesteaks I've had in DFW!
The sandwich is served on a hot, crisp roll that is not drenched and soggy like at some other places and the fries are seem to be made fresh with your order and not kept under a heat lamp as they are hot and crispy when served. The drinks are canned sodas that are ice cold.
The price is very reasonable for what you're getting especially taking into consideration of the runaway inflation we've had recently.
Some of the best food you can find are at "hole in the wall" establishments such as this one so if that is what you are looking for and not ambiance and decor, you should give...
