★★★★★ Blue Stone in Evanston is a hidden gem that perfectly balances casual dining with great food and atmosphere. My group visited during a quiet afternoon, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish.
The appetizers here are generous enough to make a meal! We tried the loaded nachos with chicken, which came perfectly assembled with guacamole, sour cream, and salsa (pro tip: follow our server's recommendation to skip the olives). We also ordered the Parmesan Truffle Fries with aioli, which were absolutely addictive – we demolished them in record time. The service was outstanding, with both the hostess and our server being incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. Our server's recommendations were spot-on, helping us make the perfect choices for our meal.
The ambiance is versatile and comfortable, with both booth and table seating options and great lighting throughout. There are TVs placed strategically around the restaurant for sports fans, but they don't detract from the overall chill vibe. During warmer months, they offer outdoor seating which creates a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere. Even in cooler weather, the patio can be enjoyable if you dress appropriately.
Pro tips: The loaded nachos and truffle fries are must-try items You can upgrade your entrée's side dish to truffle fries Visit during off-peak hours if you prefer a quieter atmosphere Consider the outdoor seating in nice weather
Overall, Blue Stone offers a comfortable, casual dining experience with generous portions and attentive service. Definitely worth checking out if you're...
Read moreWent to Bluestone today (Saturday) for lunch with my spouse. They were very busy. There was a lot of adult customers along with many youth there as well. First it took a while to be seated. Once seated we sat there for quite a while waiting for some one to take our food and drink order. Additional customers continued to come in. We saw two waiters and one bartender who took orders, and served the customers their drinks and food. Since no one came to our table and it was difficult to get the two waiters attention I went over to the bar and was able to get the bartenders attention. I said no one as come to our table to take our order. Can you please send a waiter to our table. He said there is only two staff working today and he will try to get to our table to take our order. I said only two staff on a Saturday afternoon lunch rush. He responded and said he does not make the staff schedule. I went back to my table and we left shortly after that without being waited on. We would never go back to Bluestone again. Very...
Read moreWe stopped here for a late dinner and ordered the fried green beans appetizer and dinner. I had the Bluestone Melt (Patty Melt) with tater tots. My wife had a Reuben with Sweet potato fries. The fried green beans, while good were nothing special. They did not appear to be homemade. They came accompanied by a horseradish ranch which was homemade and decent. The Melt was very good... cooked very nicely, gooey cheese, grilled onions, and juicy. The tater tots were edible but had a flavor of overused, old cooking oil with some off flavors. So, the meal, overall had high points and a couple low points. Our service was excellent. Our servers were friendly, attentive, and got our food out quickly. The atmosphere was warm, friendly, local pub and sports bar vibe with TVs in every corner. The fireplace added ambiance on a cold snowy night. I would probably stop here again when I was...
