Me and my mom Went after having a minor medical procedure done that I have to do every month due to my kidney failure to pick up an item I ordered. The employee at the self pick up area was super helpful. The self pick up was super quick and simple. I also received $5 Kohl's Cash immediately to my email for doing an in store item pick up!! Afterwards We looked around for a while and I started feeling super weak, nauseous, and dizzy like I was going to pass out. We went to the bathrooms by the back service area. When I went into the bathroom my mom went ahead and checked out the item she had back there at the service area and told the girl I was having a medical issue and they said I could also check out there when I came out of the bathroom. Mom was still at the service desk, and I was feeling really bad and I honestly wasn't paying attention to anything else and my mom said I could just check out there (she was still at the desk) I started getting the couple items I had out of the cart and all of a sudden the woman at the desk YELLS AT ME: " YOU ARE CUTTING IN LINE I SEEN U JUST COME OUT OF THE BATHROOM DONT YOU SEE THE LINE!!!" Which I didn't even realize there was a line and I profusely apologized to the 2 people in the line behind me to the side! My mom made the comment "Sorry that was my fault I'm just afraid she is going to pass out and the other employee said she could check out really quick" I was VERY dizzy to the point EVERYONE in that line took one look at me and insisted I go ahead, and one person even offered to go get a wheelchair as the employee rolled her eyes and continued to be super rude! I was SO angry and humiliated by the employee I said NOPE and went ahead up to the registers up front! Also I walk with a caine and my mom had to hold my other arm (actually I was holding onto the cart) so it wasn't like it wasn't visible I was in distress! That woman could have asked me if I was next in line and that would have been enough for me to actually look to see there was a line!! But yelling at anyone is uncalled for!! It will be a long while B4 I ever go back into Kohl's!! I had received an email for a survey about my experience at Kohl's which I filled out honestly and received an email back within 20 mins from someone at Kohl's apologizing for my experience and asking for my phone number which I replied back with! I never heard from that person though?? But at least they responded back! I didn't think anyone actually saw those surveys who were local. So I at least appreciated the apology from that...
Read moreI love shopping the clearance items at Kohl's, both online and in store but, their "hassle free" return promotion for online orders is not the true situation you face when trying to do a return.
I purchased a pair of shoes online, the width of which was not specified in the shoe description therefore, when they arrived, I found that they were too narrow for me. I took them to a store to exchange them for a wider pair or another style altogether. I was greeted curiously but, that was the end of the "hassle free" return. I was informed that I could return/exchange the shoes for a pair in the store providing that I have a printout of the sales transaction from the online purchase. I don't own a printer any more because of the advent of online digital shopping so, to have this document in hand I need to find a copy of the transaction online, (looked - didn't find), print it out at the library or a place like Office Depot both of which charges for said printout plus the time, trouble & gas costs I'm out by making such trips. Then i have to bring the shoes back in (second trip, time, trouble & gas costs), to perform the physical return/exchange.
I was informed that the only other way available to me was to purchase another pair of shoes online, of equal or greater value than that of the first pair, wait for them to arrive, print out my sales transaction documents from both transactions, bring them plus my original pair of shoes into the store for the pricing equivocation.
Apparently, my definition of "hassle free", is greatly different than that of Kohl's. That or I simply don't know the true meaning...
Read moreLast time I was there it was worse than shopping the goodwill! Clothes weren't folded, sorted, displayed well on tables. Hanging clothes were a complete wreck as well. It was a Tuesday night, not their busiest time I'm sure. Lady at service desk was so very rude and after I ask her a question, she replied you'll have to wait. She was retagging returns... Not helping someone or doing anything of urgent importance. I know task have to be completed, she was extremely rude.
Update 07/21/22 - Thankfully the service department has added some very friendly staff. The store still lacks in clean up & zoning, but everyone seemed busy in their departments. Everyone was very nice and friendly today
Update 12/07/22 The holidays have arrived and are in full force. 1. Like Kohl's! 2. I live really close by. 3. The world does not think customer service is a priority. 4. I've been shopping at this Kohl's for almost 15 years. Hardly ever do I go to the Kohl's on the west side or in Owensboro or anywhere else am I travel for that matter. This is my Kohl's and that's how it is. They're going to have to do something really terrible before I don't shop there anymore. I appreciate all the staffs hard work I can't imagine how retail has changed since covid. Thank you all for doing what you do and showing up for work. I appreciate you....
