Some of the staff here could improve their customer service skills! Most of them know zilch about the animals they are selling in the store. I have been going in there since spring, talking to the birds, and showing them bird videos which they were really enjoying. They recently got 4 more birds when they don't even sell many birds. Seems cruel to me! Sun Conures can be very loud. It's in their nature. I wondered why they were louder than the other kinds of Conures they have and have had in there. They love and require attention and that's why they start making SO much noise! They wanted my attention when I was spending time with the other birds! I had just pulled up the video of Celtic Woman singing Somewhere Over The Rainbow to see if it might calm them down. That song always calmed my 3 Turtles and most specifically my RES. The chick who was working in the back on Saturday, who I won't name, asked me to leave because she had a HEADACHE and the Sun Conures were being too noisy! I also had a headache and full body pain, that most people could never even imagine, due to RSD/CRPS! I am crippled and use an electric wheelchair. This employee was friendly with me earlier this year and has just been very rude and short with me in the past few months. If birds making noise cause her problems with a headache, maybe she should find another job, stay home, or learn WHY those Sun Conures are SO loud. She has a Cinnamon Conure, but these 2 kinds of birds behave much differently. I did talk to the manager on duty and told her what happened. She said that the behavior of the birds may need to be something they should work on, but they don't have enough employees for that! I have been socializing with the birds since spring and was told by a number of employees that it makes them better pets for people who buy them. I am homeless right now and am not sure if the nasty attitude the rude employee has been taking with me is the reason. Whatever reason, the manager needs to work on HER behavior before working with the behavior of...
Read moreI shop here all the time and have never had any issues until today. They currently have 3 cats up for adoption up near the front of the store and I was genuinely upset to see the state of the cage. The litter box was so unmanaged, there wasn't even any diggable litter, it was literally FULL of urine and feces. no clean water. poop smeared all over the one bed in the cage. the black kitten needs medical attention ASAP, he is covered in feces and litter, unable to groom himself, and has a raw backside that looked bloody. My partner and I immediately brought this to the staff's attention, who were busy talking and laughing near the front of the store. we were told a groomer was coming to take care of it? no.... this cat needs to see a vet and the cage needs cleaned asap. other customers notice what I did and told me they weren't going to do anything. I finished my shopping and saw no one had came over to- at the bare minimum give them a place to use the bathroom- so i opened the cage and started scooping the box myself. it's not a hard task and the cats were crying trying to find a spot that they could dig but it was all clumped together. within 15 seconds we had an employee in our face telling us to get out of the cage and that employees would handle it. I politely said I didn't mind helping since it wasn't being handled. I was asked again to leave. the 4-5 people who were "working", just standing around gossiping apparently couldn't spare 3 minutes to provide basic care to these animals. I left in tears... I was tempted to just adopt all 3 but I already have 3 cats in one apartment. if you're reading this and have room for a cat or 2, or 3, can someone go adopt them? I will...
