Showplace Cinemas North — Local services in Evansville

This was the single worst experience I have ever had at a theater. There was bad music absolutely blasting over the speakers while we waited IN THE DARK at a children's movie for the previews to start. Ten minutes after the movie was to start, multiple parents went out to ask what was going on. Fifteen minutes late, the previews started and all of the house lights came on. There was no audio with the previews and the music was still playing so loudly we had to shout to talk to the person next to us. Again, multiple parents went to complain. At the END of the previews, they turned the terrible music off and started the audio. FINALLY the movie started. The house lights were all still on and the music came back. NO AUDIO FOR THE MOVIE! The movie continued to play as several parents left to complain for the THIRD TIME. We demanded that they start the movie at the beginning. We went back in and the audio eventually came in as the music turned off and the house lights went down. By this time we had missed the first 10 minutes of the movie! They didn't restart the movie!! Mid way through, the movie froze. We all sat for several minutes waiting for it to be fixed. FOR THE FOURTH TIME multiple parents had to go search out an employee to get it started. At no time during any of this did a single employee apologize. At no time during any of this did a single employee even enter the theater. We had hoped for a fun family outing. This was anything but. This was the last time we will give Showplace Cinemas any of our money. AMC is the only place for us. Trying local was a...

Brought my daughter here to celebrate her birthday but we were very disappointed. We saw a 7:15 movie and by 7:45 the concession was completely closed so no popcorn refills for us. I paid for a medium combo and found out later they offered free popcorn with a ticket purchase but that was never communicated. There was no butter in the any of the machines and the pink lemonade was also out in both dispensers and when I asked if it could be replaced she just looked at me and walked away after standing there for 10 minutes with no communication I settled for soda which I really don’t drink. We were going to stay after the movie and play some games in the lobby but couldn’t find anyone to help us with questions about closing hours or anything. My problem with this was not the movie. The movie was fine and everything was fine until after the movie. I come out of the movie theater and my phone is very greasy and keeps on getting greasier and I don’t know why. I then go look at Snapchat and hear my speaker and it is RUINED!!! I think it’s my phone case, so I take it off and see the inside is COVERED IN BUTTER!!! Neither me nor my friend got butter on our popcorn but it was THE CUP HOLDER I had placed my phone in that got my phone covered in butter. I tried calling the manager 5 times and NO RESPONSE!!! Doesn’t even let me leave a voicemail. I simply won’t be going back to this theatre because of the mess that was left in the cup holder and now my phone speaker is RUINED!!! Simply...
