Att has fooled me! I was approached by Francis the sales manager who told me there was a sale going on in October and if I switched from Verizon to ATT and trade in my iPhone, I’d get a new iPhone 14 for free. He gave a paper with instructions on how to send my phone in to ATT via mail and told me I’d also have a discount through my employer. I did everything I was told, I followed ALL the requirements from ATT and sent my phone in for the trade in. I also did everything he told me to get the discount through my employer. He calculated that my monthly bill would be $75. A few weeks later I receive a message from ATT that my iPhone is not eligible for trade in because I didn’t turn off the “find my iPhone button”. Which is not accurate, I followed all the steps they told me to follow, I went to the Apple Store to make sure I did everything correctly. I called their customer services probably 6 times and all the people I spoke with, told me the same thing: “ma’am I understand your frustration but unfortunately there is nothing we can do, I know you think you did everything right but the team who received your phone said you didn’t deactivate the follow my iPhone so we can’t do anything for you and your case is close”. So… it’s my word against theirs and they chose to leave me with no support and they didn’t even prove to me that ny iPhone was blocked, because they can’t. Because I unblocked it before I sent it to them. I sent them a printscreen of find ny iPhone on my cellphone showing that the old iPhone is no longer showing under “my devices”. I called the store manager who after a while started blocking my calls, he did nothing. Called his manager Tarek who did nothing but tell Francis to work with me. I received a call from Noah from a third party agency that handles customer service for ATT who told me he was going to help me but so far nothing has changed. He also didn’t answer my call today, didn’t call me back. My phone is gone, I could have given it to my mother or sold it because it was paid off and instead, ATT has it and gave me $18 for it. I’m crushed. I am also stuck with them and their terrible service for 3 years now and my bill is not $75 as promised but $100 because they did not give the discount they promised and I have to pay for a phone I can not afford.
