Ive been very happy here. The mall is clean and similar to the local area big indoor malls. It's older than the newly redone springfield mall and tysons and yet is still nice. I like this mall bc you can find some better deals here vs the closer you are to the city(typical). I really wish they had specifically a Gordon Berish (i know I spelled that incorrectly but its a beer and restaurant place. (They have one in Tysons (mall not the galleria) and the food, beer, everything is 👍 great.)
The DMV here at Fairoaks Mall is normal but good. The staff is kind. It of course can get busy at the end of the month and beginning of the month. Fridays and esp weekends are bad. For those that are unable to stand due to disability, they have a wheelchair you can barrow. Ive waited over an hour 30 just to get my ticket numbet and get a seat on bad busy days- total over 3 hours done. Other days ive walked right up, got my ticket and been done in 15 min easy. Just dont go on friday sat sun esp end of month weekends.
Victoria secret at fairoaks mall. 6 / 5 stars for fitting room staff. 1/5 stars for checkout counter staff. Im extremely- inpressed w/ the women that have helped fit me here. Twice recently different fitter VS employees have REALLY known a lot and they helped me for a long time find the best fitting bra. Very impressed just ask for help and they are fantastic! Now for a sad part. The checkout was really a poor expeeience time wise. We joked and were like is this buying a bra or are we getting passports and plane tickets? One person was calling her otherhalf to tell him it was still going to be longer due to the line not movibg and that was right in the beginning. In total they couldnt move this one woman off the one registure for some reason(she was unhappy that they didnt have her size in that store aming other things( imo poor customer and registure management) and the only other registure open was going soooooo slow. I mean slow. I was confused as to what was wrong since it seemed to all be working but things were seriously taking so long. Their was a lot of ppl waiting in this line in the hold up just waiting for these two customers to get processed that took long enough for me that I could have gone to the bathroom, and started a book a bit. Things finally moved when this one person came back from lunch and moved ppl through in full speed and it only took us about 3 min max to check out. This disruption was abnormal i hope. It was just weird how great of an experience iwent from the fitting room to the front. I almost left even though i was next in line or second for the majority of this time like 90%. I do love my new bras I will say...
Read moreRedskins store had friendly staff that were willing to help and answer questions regarding to items in the store and the area. A++ for the Redskins store!!
Sears staff did not speak English very well! She was not able to understand the question we had regarding the item or where it may be located in the store. She actually told us that Sears did not carry jackets or ponchos because she was unable to understand us!! I understand there are people from many different countries that live in the USA; however, it may be wise not to hire them as cashier/ customer service if they cannot speak English!!
Next, we stopped at Elevation Burgers. When our order can out it was wrong. A sandwich that had been ordered without tomatoes had tomatoes on it. The sandwiches were sent back. They brought the same sandwiches backs and said “We just took the tomatoes off that sandwich.” We could have done that ourselves, but I cannot eat tomatoes because they make me sick. Just taking the tomatoes off does remove all the juice and “guts” of the tomatoes left on the sandwich.
We will not be returning...
Read moreThis mall has two Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, JCPenney, and Sears as anchor stores. While it’s not the biggest compared to other malls, it offers a good variety of shopping options, including the Apple Store, Pottery Barn, and a mix of clothing and shoe stores. The food court is small with limited options, but there are three big restaurants—Cheesecake Factory, On the Border, and more—on the premises. Starbucks is right in the middle and always busy. Access to the mall from Rt 50 is easy, though the roundabout to exit can be a bit tricky.
We spent a Friday afternoon strolling around and watching the kids play in the play areas. Afterward, we enjoyed a meal at the Cheesecake Factory. It was a great time for the whole family.
I really like this mall. The crowd is never overwhelming, and the selection of stores and food is fantastic compared to other malls in the DMV area. There’s plenty to do for friends and family, and the seating areas throughout the mall are a...
