Mr. Appliance was able to dispatch a technician to diagnose our issue (dishwasher stopped working) within a day, which was fantastic! Jason identified the issue and ordered the part on the spot. He let me know how the expected timeline of part arrival and that the front office would call me to schedule an appt to replace the faulty part when it arrived. I was pleased to find that he would also be the technician to complete the repairs as well. I liked that.
He left, I figured I would get a call from Mr. Appliance in a few days to schedule the actual repair, but I got a call that afternoon (Tuesday) that the part is available for pickup Wednesday and that Jason could be out as soon as Thursday (of the same week, here, folks) to install the part. That is awesome.
I am very pleased with the level of professionalism and the consideration taken in regards to our time. They offered a 4 hour window when the appointment is initially booked, either morning (8a-12p) or afternoon (12p-5p), but provided a smaller window af arrival the night before, which, in my case, turned out to be between 8-10a. I received an arrival text at 7:59a that Jason would be here shortly and he arrived about 8 minutes later. He wore booties over his shoes, made the repair, checked the repair, ensured it was good and in working order, cleaned up and was on his way within an hour. 60 minutes, folks.
The price was quite reasonable to me, but that is a very subjective thing, so that's a topic I'll leave for all of you reading this to decide for yourselves. But, I will day this: the amount I paid was well worth it when compared to the rage-inducing incompetence of the Sears repair men that WOULD have been sent by our home warranty company.
Jason and Devin(sp?) were personable, professional, timely, clean, and an overall pleasure to have in my disaster of a kitchen. 10/10 would use again.
So, on the whole, I think I've found my new local...

I had a truly horrible experience with Mr. Appliance of Mid America. I called them in to assess my refrigerator not making ice, and the technician (Brad) determined that the ice maker itself needed to be replaced. After paying around $450 for the repair plus a $130 service fee, we waited several days ā only to find that we still had no ice.
We called them back, and the same technician returned. This time, he claimed that the issue might actually be with a valve and suggested replacing it. He then recommended replacing both valves in the fridge to avoid another service call. This was despite the fact that they had already replaced the ice maker, which was supposed to be the problem in the first place.
It felt like they were just trying to keep charging us for unnecessary repairs, with no certainty that any of it would fix the issue. When I contacted the manager (Julie or Julia) to discuss the situation, she was incredibly dismissive and kept talking over me without listening to my concerns. She simply repeated that Iād need to pay for the additional repairs and I would not be refunded.
I ended up calling another company to get a second opinion. They agreed that the original diagnosis should have been much more thorough and that Mr. Appliance was likely trying to take advantage of the situation.
This has been the worst customer service experience Iāve ever had, and I would never recommend Mr. Appliance of Mid America to anyone. Be cautious if you're considering...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWashing machine leaving black oil stains on my clothes and inside of drum had black oil stains. I was able to clean those out prior to tech coming out and had not done laundry in fear of ruining more cloths for about a month, which gave the illusion that the washing machine was clean/that the problem was not still occurring (it is). Unfortunately the repair technician "had no idea why" my clothes were left stained black. I was told to use white vinegar which, was tried, but the problem was not properly diagnosed. Upon further inspected I've come to find that the washing machine bearings are more than likely going bad. It would more than likely cost more to repair. I was told I could of course call back and Mr. Appliance could come back, but I do not see the point since he was unsure what to look for if he opened the washing machine. This service would be good if there is a typical or "easy" fix to your washing machine. Unfortunately I just had bad luck. Technician was very nice and prompt otherwise, just could not fix my problem. First pic was when I washed my clothes prior to calling service. Last two pics are what I found after running rinse cycle with vinegar, as recommended. The agitator must not have been screwed back on properly; it was floating in washing machine when I opened it. The the oil, as shown, is inside the agitator indicating a deeper issue as I tried to explain that vinegar more than likely would not fix. Buying a new washer...
