Our family of four took a full day trip to culebra with Hector as our captain. Hector was awesome and accommodating throughout the trip. The boat ride to the island was extremely choppy and Hector checked on us repeatedly and although he kept the speed high, he did slow it down the end when we were taking 3ft drops in the water. The beaches he took us to were beautiful and he prepared a great charcuterie board for everyone between the two anchors. My complaint is with the quality of the boat and maybe the company that owns it. The seats were falling apart and the seat pads were no longer attached, my son slipped on the seats a few times during the choppy ride there. Although disclosed during the booking, you have to pay $100 to use the bathroom. The bathroom was not clean and smelled. It was nice that the company provided snorkeling gear, but the gear had seen better days, with all mouth pieces completely chewed off. Based on the instructions we did bring our own towel and food as these were not provided.
For future clients, make sure you know that if you are a small group, your boat may not reflect the beautiful boat on the website. Save $100 bathroom fee. Bring your own snorkeling gear. The company also does not provide fins - so bring those as well.
Aside from Hector being an amazing captain, the "vip" boat seemed like a taxi service rather than a luxurious private charter. Next time, the family agreed to use a different company. At the end of the day, for the money we spent, the company could have done so...
Read moreBooking with Culebra was the BEST decision I made for my 10 year wedding anniversary trip to Puerto Rico. We have been visiting PR for almost 14 years now since my in-laws moved back in 2006. Each year we try to do an activity that helps us explore the island and hopefully learn along the way. Well we hit the jackpot with this tour.
After 5 or 6 catamaran tours and one horrible experience with the ferry, we really wanted something different and this was certainly the one! First of all having the boat all to yourself is just priceless! Then Rox educated us on the history of the small islands that we passed on the way to Culebra which by the way, the views, *chefs kiss". We blasted music and took in the beautiful scenery as we jetted off to Cayo Luis Pena where we had the beach all to ourselves! The fish swim right up to you and a couple of sting rays came to check us out as well. We walked along the shore, swam, ate, drank and were merry.
Esdras grilled us a delicious meal of tuna and chicken with fresh bread (pan sobao I think). We loved talking to both Esdras and Rox learning about why they do what they do. They are really good people and I'm excited for them to grow and continue to be the very best!
We begrudgingly returned to the marina where we were allowed to shower and change. I will never forget this experience and I can't wait to do it again! Thank you both so much for making our...
Read moreCaptain Esdras and his 1st mate Roxanne showed us one of the most amazing days of my family's life ! He is a great Captain! Took us to several beautiful spots around Culebra and was ready to keep going and take my family to other places but we were burned out by 3:00 p.m.. The food was amazing. It doesn't get much better than beautiful views warm awesome water. And the smell of great food being barbecued right off the boat. And brought too us on a surf board , boat to beach We basically just sat our butts there and it was brought to us. Ate under the shade of some nice trees .I also have to say the Captain probably saved my daughter a trip to the hospital as she went to dive for a sea urchin and he grabbed her hand right before she touched it! I owe him one . Oh yeah he gets in the water with you too and shows you exactly where to go on the reef for snorkeling! I would highly recommend...
