At this point, despite the 4-5 star rating for sun and ski, my experience has been less than optimal. I purchased new skis, boots, bindings, poles, and a helmet from them. I ended up purchasing a different set of skis/bindings from the sun and ski website and had them shipped to the store (which I was told would take 5 days); this is where the experience went downhill. I received an email that said my new purchase was ready for pickup. I tried to log into the account that was set up with my purchase but could not log in to the website. I drove to Sun and Ski the following day to return the necessary items because they could not do the return over the phone (even though my skis and bindings were still at their shop waiting to be mounted) and I went to pick up my new purchase (per the email). When I did, they returned the original ski/bindings purchase with no issue but could not honor the discount code I received via email (but did give me an in store credit), then they could not locate my new skis/bindings (and it took them a while to find my originally purchased boots, skis, and bindings in the shop). They eventually located my new bindings in the shop but could not locate the skis from the online order. I then received two emails saying my gear was ready for pick up despite being told they would be available the following week. I called and was told they were not ready. Today, I called to verify my skis/bindings would be ready for pick up due to the upcoming snowstorm, to ensure the settings for my gear were accurate (since I could not log into the website to verify my height/weight/etc.), and to see if my skis needed waxing before using them for the first time. I was told to call back at 7pm because the guys in the shop were too busy to take my call. I said I thought they would be closed and I was told they would be open. When I called back at 7pm, their voicemail said it was after store hours. I am hoping that when I call back tomorrow am, this will all get worked out so I can ski without injury next week. At this point, I have not been impressed with this store (minus Kelsey, who was friendly and knowledgable and helped me pick my helmet) and I am hoping I at least get my equipment properly set up and that I can get my rewards for all the items I purchased since I cannot log into the account they had me created during my...
Read moreFriendly service and great people in the repair shop. The prices aren't the cheapest around, I wish I had just gotten my board waxed at the slopes where it's $15. Hear it cost me 30 but they did edges as well. If you're super rich and want to buy the hottest gear in town, this is the place to do it. That being said, I just wanted to find my girlfriend some decent, warm gloves jacket and pants. REI gave us more for the price. To give you an idea what I'm talking about, the first thing we found on the shelf that looks nice and we wanted to have her try on turned out to be $800 for the combination Pants and Jacket. Unless it's filled with aerogel and diamonds, that price just doesn't do it for me. Go to Ross and you can find plenty of gender-neutral stuff in the men's section. Or better yet, go to eBay and get the Chinese knock-offs from there or Amazon. A friend of mine had the literal knock off of the super expensive jacket and let me tell you, it was the same freaking thing without the North Face logo. The quality was just as good and it was extremely warm. Also, we met the stupidest service rep in the world. He's trying to get my girlfriend to squeeze into a size 7 boot when she's about a seven and a quarter. The thing to do is to get her a seven and a half and some fluffy socks. She's bad circulation and cold feet all the time. This guy was trying to convince her that some paper thin fancy wool socks. Don't let the stupid sales rep take away from the really great shop team. It's a shame I have to put them both in the...
Read moreI purchased boots, snowboard, and bindings from here and the guy who sold me the snowboard and the bindings sold me the wrong sized bindings. Every time I would go down the slopes during snowboarding season, both of my bindings would get loose, I didn’t know the reason why this kept happening so I ended up taking my snowboard and bindings to another more experienced shop where they had technicians, and after the technicians examined my snowboard and the binding, the technician explained the sun&ski employee sold me the wrong sized binding to my snowboard. After finally finding out the reason why my bindings kept getting loose because my binding was too small for my snowboard (it could only fit 2 screws instead of 4) and the sun&ski employee sold it to me like that. I took it back to the shop and told the manager what happened and the manager was not helpful at all. It seems like they hire inexperienced employees, who knows nothing about snowboards and bindings and just try to sell items without not knowing anything about bindings and snowboards. BEWARE! Make sure you do your research before listening to anything the employees say, all they care about is making money and doesn’t care about the customers! I would give them zero stars if it was an option. I’m VERY upset this happened and they take ZERO responsibility for their employees. The manager didn’t even offer me a discount to purchase the right sized snowboard for the binding they sold to me. NEVER coming...
