KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot — Restaurant in Falls Church

Our daughter recently graduated from college and YES we are still celebrating so she selected this spot for the evening festivities. Y'all know I'm about to give you the "tea" chile so come on now - let's get into it.

We arrived with 5 in our party and we were quickly added to the wait list for a table. They have a really nice and fully stocked bar area so we all decided to sit there while we waited. The bartending staff was great and made us some great drinks. This was our first time there although my daughter had been there before.

Our table was ready pretty quickly so away we went to discover this new place. Our waiter was Gary and he was extremely accommodating and patient. I locked the ordering device a couple of times not knowing what I was doing and each time he handled it without incident and with care.

They have an a la carte area where you can select ready prepared items like chicken wings, shrimp, etc. which was really great because it served as appetizers for us. This is also the area where you can go and get your sauces and condiments to "season" your food when grilling it.

We opted for the hot pot and barbecue option. When I tell you this was so much food I truly, truly mean it. You can order what you want for one price and when they start bringing the food out - IT'S ON!!!

The selection of options is AMAZING and the restaurant was well maintained and kept. We had a ball and Gary was wonderful! The entire staff was BOMB for that matter. ADDITIONAL SHOUT OUTS TO: TJ (Manager), Gabe, Billy, Francois, Minh, Mikaelah, Louisa, Adriana, Lilly, Izzy and Jenny. All of them were on staff on the night of our visit - making it HAPPEN!!!

In case it isn't crystal clear yet I'm a fan and would return for sure. I have to be honest though, unless I haven't eaten for a week I probably won't do both the hot pot and BBQ options the next time. It's a tremendous amount of food especially with the a la carte bar available. I should add you have to eat the food there, you can't take it with you - if you select the all you can eat option. Which of course ALL of our greedy behinds DID!

Time for a quick recap: This is a great place for celebrations, group gatherings, dates, etc. If you haven't already given them a try, you should. They offer great value for your money, a cool atmosphere and a rock star staff awaits. What are you waiting for?!? Enjoy and you're welcome!

I recently had the pleasure of dining here, and my experience was nothing short of exceptional, thanks in large part to our server, Isabel. From the moment we sat down to the last sip of our broth, Isabel elevated our hot pot experience with impeccable service.

Firstly, I don't particularly enjoy eating hot pot nor KBBQ, however, Isabel welcomed me and my group warmly. Their friendly demeanor and enthusiasm immediately set a positive tone for the night. Throughout the meal, Isabel demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the menu, providing insightful recommendations on broth choices, dipping sauces, and protein selections. It was evident that they were not only well-trained but also genuinely passionate about the cuisine they were serving.

One notable aspect of Isabel's service was their attentiveness without being intrusive. Our hot pot ingredients were promptly replenished, and the broth was kept at the perfect simmer throughout the entire meal. Isabel made sure to check in on us regularly, ensuring that we were comfortable and satisfied with our choices. This level of attentiveness greatly enhanced our dining experience.

Moreover, Isabel showcased excellent communication skills, patiently answering our questions about specific ingredients, cooking times, and flavor profiles. Their recommendations, such as pairing a particular meat with a specific dipping sauce, added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal. I went here with a group of friends excited to try out both the hot pot and Korean bbq but ended up having a really dissapointing experience.

First off let me say that the food tasted fine, it wasn't my main problem and there were plenty of options and great variety. My issue was with the food portions that were given. We would order four servings worth of an item but end up only end up getting food for a person and a half. We were lucky to even get the food we ordered since it was completely random if we were going to get what we ordered. Every time we ordered something we were guaranteed to miss an item, like when we ordered four servings of Udon noddles for everyones hot pot but we only ended up recieving one serving. Both of these issues meant that we didnt have enough food to eat and we would be continiously waiting for it.

The other problem came from the service. How it works at KPot is that each table has an iPad associated with where you can order the food and not have to rely on a waiter. It sounds great until your iPad dies within the first 30 minutes. We brought the issue up to our waiter and she took the iPad and never brought it back, and she never told us we weren't getting another one. We had to figure that out by asking some time later and had to order through her, so that plus all the food problems listed before meant that we spent more time waiting for food to come than actually eating. It got even more strange when our waiter gave us the check and told us the kitchen was closing without any warning. We were still waiting on some meat to be delivered and they weren't going to serve it to us even though we ordered it way before the kitched closed. Luckily we convinced the waiter to get the rest of our order but its just another dissapointment.

I understand that its a new restaurant and there are going to be kinks especially with the service, but it was still really dissapointing experience. Hopefully in the future KPot fixes these issues so I can give it another shot but I dont see myself coming back...
