The young lady who rang me out is a horrible human being. I collect cheap watches, and will on occasion stop in this store to see what they have. This morning I went there with my wife, and found something I wanted and had the attendant put it aside for me while I continued shopping. All is well so far. After walking around for a bit I got inline and when I got to the front the cashier (not the same as the person who got the watch from the case) got the watch and rang me out. $26.50. I happened to have 30ish dollars in cash on me that I didn't want in my wallet (I try to keep as little in there as possible). I have exactly $32. I figured I would try to get a 5 back instead of having a bunch of 1's. In my head I thought $26, I'll give her $31. Oops! The girl hands me back $4.50 in change. I pause (for no more then a half a second) expecting a 5 back. I quickly realized my mistake, for which I was incredibly embarrassed. I said "Oh! I messed that up didn't I". Her only reply was a loud "Yeah, you did mess that up." Making sure my wife and everyone around was aware of my mistake. By that response, she obviously knew I was trying to get a 5 back. I was so embarrassed all I could say was "I had the extra dollar" and quickly turned and walked away. No "thank you", no "have a nice day", only "you messed up". I am a cashier and understand people are always trying to get one over on you and maybe she thought I was doing that. But a simple "Did you mean to give me 32?" solves the problem. If I'm trying to scam you, you've called me out and I'm forces to pony up the dollar or take the change, and if it's an honest mistake I correct it and no one is worse the ware. But she insisted on embarrassing me, making an already anxious...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen here few times. Normally I have not found the rude employees like people on here are saying. But then again only been here few times, so maybe missed them. Some clothes high, some reasonably priced. Best thrift store I have been to. Have a lot as well. More than other thrift stores I go to. And have better clothes and books and other items than most.
4/5/24 I have been here today and had rude cashier. Clearly did not want to be there today, or just in general. She didnt say anything whole time, just wanted to be rude whole time by gestures. She just wanted to give rude gestures whole interaction instead of talking. She said ānextā in rude tone. Then after she rung me up I was going to pay by credit card. I was waiting for her to tell me when to put in card (so I dont put it in too early and have to redo it) but this girl gave me a death stare and then pointed to credit card machine and then gave me a look like Im the problem for not knowing to put in my card in slot. Afterwards did not say anything like āhave a nice dayā or anything else to make it clear we were done. Just handed me receipt and gave look like I should just assume. Also overheard her being rude to other customers in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWaiting in line to check out, there were four employees at the counter. One was checking a customer out and the other three were watching a video and laughing while customers were waiting. I pointed this out when I was finally called to the counter. The employees were very rude and noted that only two registers were working. I pointed out that if only two registers were working, maybe the other employees watching videos should be actively working away from the counter. The perception of them sitting around laughing at videos while customers are waiting is that customers are not their priority. One of the employees continued to respond that they were working as I was walking out. Very rude and obviously didnāt get the message that perception goes a long way. The supervisor was the one actually showing the video to the other employees.
My wife goes there a few times a week and we donate items there at least a few times a year. Time to look for a place that prioritizes their customers better than Good Stuff Thrift. Definitely not on par with the other Goos Stuff stores...
