I have gone here many times! It is, after all, my closest hobby shop. The guys may fight and talk about political subjects, but they just can't keep talking to each other all the time! Anyways, I am a train guy, so I come here for accessories and new locomotives/rolling stock. I have purchased a model train for my birthday, but it is a discontinued product from the manufacture. I was extremely happy! Not many people had that specific locomotive, and I really enjoy it. I think I got that in 2013, or 2012. I don't remember. What I do remember was the joy on my face. The locomotive is still running today with my expanded fleet ever since. I come here also for freight cars, couplers, and track. In fact, when I was building up my layout, I had come here 98% of the time for the track. And when I needed some track that they didn't have in stock, they ordered it for me! Quite the luxury for these buisnessmen, Mike and Harvey, to order a product specifically for a customer. I really don't get the negative comments about this place, but I get how they may talk loud and rude, but if you come back often, you'll get used to them and you'll be a returning customer, which will make them happy. Anyways, great guys, and I appreciate the dedication for a room full of trains! P.S. Their return policy is excellent! Just bring back the receipt. And, the prices are not bad, compared to other train shops. Also, they will fix your stock at a price, lower if it is from them, higher...
Read moreIn my leisure time I enjoy building 1/48 scale WW2 fighter planes/bombers. I needed some Tamiya-brand modeling paints for my airbrush, and this is the only store in a reasonable radius from my work/home that carries them. I'm glad I came in. Brick and mortar hobby shops seem to be a thing of the past. But this guy is going strong with his store. He has an extensive range of modeling paints from Vallejo, Tamiya, Humbrol, and Testors (possibly more that I didn't see). He has a MASSIVE selection of the Vallejo "Game Color" paints. He has Tamiya's complete range of acrylic paints. Not to mention he's got a huge selection of models themselves. Of course he also carries every hobby tool you could ever need. From all of the major brands. On top of all this, he is just a friendly and knowledgeable guy. It was nice to small talk with him. On another note, he will also order anything he might not have in stock for you, for no extra charge.
I'll certainly be back in the future and I recommend any hobby enthusiast in the area to check him out.
To the guy complaining in one of the reviews about him closing shop a couple minutes early, stop crying. What a nitpicky thing to complain about. It's a small business, and the man probably has a lot of slow periods. If you're going to a hobby shop 10 minutes before they are scheduled to close that's YOUR...
Read moreI will admit, when I bought that R32 Skyline GT-R Nismo from you guys last week with my dad, you guys had some amazing service! I'm not much of a train guy, but if I had a friend or two who has a huge interest in train models, I'd pick up a few for them. I love the variety of models you guys had though. Now, it was a bit upsetting that most of the kits for us car guys are American cars, but they did have a few car kits that were European. I can completely understand that those kits are from Japan and can only get imported every so often. At some point, I'd definitely get a kit that was something Italian, Swedish, maybe British, such as Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, Mini, Land Rover, Ferrari, Jaguar, etc. Their range of paints is pretty good too, from Testors to Tamiya, little jars of acrylic to spray, it's a great variety. One thing that throws me off though is the pricing. The pricing is on the expensive side a bit, but it's not terrible. It might be a bit more expensive at this place while something could be cheaper at other shops, but I'm not gonna complain about it! Overall, I'll definitely come here again if I need another kit, some more paint, maybe check out some of the diecasts, or just check out the inventory...
