I loved my dress, but the experience was disappointing, disorganized and did not meet expectations. I had an appointment with Your Day By Nicole on 1/25/25, specifying prior to the appt that I was looking for an “off the rack/sample sale” dress due to my 7/26/25 wedding. They told me no problem! Walking into the appointment, I was told to choose dresses myself from the 2 small racks that 2 other parties were also picking from at the same time. I would have thought dresses would have been pulled for me already that could be purchased off the rack and matched the designs they asked me to send. After trying on three dresses, I found “the one,” but was informed it couldn’t be purchased off the rack and needed to be ordered (What?!). They promised to rush it, waive the fee, and quoted me June 6th delivery to the store and assured me multiple times, there would be no issues getting it by June 6th. I was excited they would do that for me! I called on June 4th and 9th for updates but was told there was no news. On June 18th, I called again and asked if there was anyway they could look into the situation or see where my dress was and call me back, as I was again told they hadn’t heard anything. I received a text later that day, that they had spoke to the designer company and the dress would arrive on July 10th, too close for comfort to my wedding. They suggested to go ahead and set up the first alterations appointment and also that they hadn’t received the remaining balance. I was not thrilled about having to pay the remaining 30% before the store even received dress. I called the store same day to schedule the alterations appointment and hesitantly paid the remainder. I would think they would have a file for each bride to keep information organized. When I called to schedule the first alterations appt, the associate asked when I would like to schedule, I said I was told the dress would be there by the 10th and asked what was next available towards the end of the day. She suggested 7/24….2 days before my wedding.🤦🏼♀️ When I told her that, she suggested 7/10- the day quoted for arrival, I said well idk will it be there?! We went with the 10th. I received a follow up text on July 2nd that the dress had arrived. First fitting went well, and while I was standing there, the seamstress scheduled me for the next fitting on 7/17 but said she was having issues scheduling it into the computer. When I arrived for my appt the next Thursday, the seamstress was in the back with a different party, and I was told by the associate that there must have been a mix up as I wasn’t on the schedule and my dress was not even there. It’s less than 2 weeks to my wedding and I confirmed this appt 3 times with the seamstress, so I’m understandably upset, but know mistakes happen and said I’d be back same time the next day. The next day the seamstress showed up with her baby and as soon as she started pinning, the baby started crying and she had to go to the business next door to see if someone there would watch her baby. When she came back, I pointed out that it appeared she had hemmed the 3 layers of the dress all different lengths. She apologized and told me she wasn’t sure how she managed that, but it was an easy fix. The final fitting was the Thursday before my wedding, and the dress was extremely wrinkled. I would have expected it to be ready to take home that day. They did offer to press or steam the dress but I would have to come back the next day to pick up, and I had a full day planned with family and wedding party and wasn’t going to be able to work that into the schedule, so I declined and my mom spent the morning of my wedding steaming my dress. There were no apologies or attempts to rectify any of the situations I encountered, and I still paid full price for alterations. I wouldn’t recommend Your Day By Nicole unless you have plenty of time before your wedding, are prepared for the disorganization, and can afford to add at least a month to their...
Read moreI went to the YDBN location in South Fargo because online, it says they are the only store that carries the Eddy K curve line. Unfortunately, they haven’t updated their website in some time. I got to my appointment and was humiliated when they didn’t have a dress in my size because they split their plus size dresses between locations. I was not able to try on a single dress. I loved the collection so much too, so it was really disappointing.
The girl working was amazing and incredibly understanding of my situation. She was sympathetic and didn’t make me feel bad for having to leave.
If you are going to say one location exclusively has your plus size collection, please follow through with that. It will save so many people...
Read moreI'm on hospice care and was really hoping I'd find a kind wedding shop to make my dream come true of seeing my 14 year old niece in a wedding dress since I won't be there for her wedding day someday. Elie at your day by Nicole welcomed us with opening arms to have me see my niece in a wedding gown. Lucy helped my niece pick out dresses and try them on. When my niece walked out of the fitting room I cried seeing my niece, a beautiful bride. Lucy took videos and pictures to capture our special day. Thanks to your day by Nicole, Elie, and Lucy for making this come true. Thank you so very much for being so...
