Edited to respond to Owner. He says it was on hold yet it was on the floor still and not on anyone's radar until like 5-10 mins after i left with my other stuff at the register. A professional owner would've apologized to the other person and said, 'sorry, I forgot to take the item you asked for off the floor and someone bought it.' And that is what 99% of the rest of the world would have done. Not remove it from someone's shopping cart who was in the middle of buying it. You can say whatever you want but I've never had someone do that to me. You can defend yourself and act like I'm wrong but I'm not. you were wrong for doing it. And it was incredibly unprofessional.
Store is a total unorganized mess but I wouldn't have cared at all if my experience was better. But it was not and they really, really pissed me off on a sale. They had 2 of a certain "Funko Pop" figure out on their floor for sale that i wanted to buy. I was going to buy both, one to collect and one to put on my desk at work... so i grabbed one and then went back to grab the other. I told them I was buying both, and I wanted to continue shopping so i was leaving at the register with the other stuff i was buying. No issues, I go back for one more pass thru the store and while doing so, the Owner showed what kind of person he is. I cant 100% prove this but I'd bet money on it being true: I think the fact that I wanted two made the Owner think, "well this must be worth more money" (they were selling at the retail cost and you can still find it for that if you find it at a retail store but on ebay it's going for a little more) and while I was still shopping, after like 5 mins of me telling him i was buying and putting with my stuff at register he sought me out while i was looking around and said that "he thought he was supposed to be saving one for someone else" and he made a BS theatrical phone call to someone (which i completely doubt anyone was even on the line) so he could justify taking one back from me even though I already said I was buying it. If I wouldn't have looked to buy more items then I'd have already paid and been gone. Crazy right? What business Owner does that? I don't believe anyone was even on the line. This left a super bad taste in my mouth. I was ticked off my whole ride home. And after a few days i feel even stronger about it. I've never had someone do that. They should've apologized to the other person if it was true (if..)! I'll never go back there. Maybe they held it to try make an extra $20 but was that worth it? Super bad business practice. Taking something out of a customer's cart or Changing prices on them...VERY UNPROFESSIONAL... but by the looks of the store and the fact that someone would even do that to one of their customers, that truth probably doesn't...
Read moreComicade is a place i dont visit alot. Since i live a fair distance away. But let me tell you, ive never seen a man who cares more for his customers than this man. Laurence. The owner . A man who just does not know about comic books but makes it his passion. Something rare and unseen. A man who cares for his craft and is willing to do to the right thing no matter the cost. A man who deals in the finest and coolest comic books. He had comic books ive only dreamed of owning. He is humble, kind, honest. The man is a comic book selling machine from a time and place we have yet to experience and by god we wish we could go there, he gives us a glimpse into that world and every time my friend "Christian " and I go in he has that old world atmosphere mixed with a new world astetic. I will alway...
Read moreNew place that popped up on the radar and one I'd recommend to anyone who is a comic book fan, collector of figurines, cards, and more. If you're looking for some nostalgia, I suggest you check out the store.
A real blast from the past to the wide variety of things to see on display. The collection from the owner Marcus has a lot to offer. A kind gentleman and hardworking businessman.
For the few times I've been in the store, he's always hard at work to get things together since his opening, but also is welcoming and has always been helpful with information on what I am interested in.
There's a lot of heart here and an interesting experience to what I would consider a local museum to nostalgia and a lot of...
