The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, from the tablecloths to the chandeliers everything brought an elevated atmosphere to the space. However, that was the only enjoyable aspect.
The food was extremely overpriced for the portion sizes. I had read this in prior reviews but was willing to forgive this if the food was high quality. Unfortunately that was not the case. We ordered the chef special set sauteed green beans, the cumin lamb and rice for each. The rice was fine, certainly nothing to write home about. The green beans were similar, definitely the best part of the meal which isn't saying much. It was something that could have easily been made at home and tasted like it didn't incorporate any fresh spices whatsoever. The cumin lamb was an utter disappointment. The lamb had a horrendous texture. Completely overcooked and to me, tasted as though it had been cooked from frozen. My dining partner compared it to Taco Bell meat. The sauce was similarly lacking, but honestly the texture alone was enough to make it impossible to finish. $28 for maybe a cup of meat that was honestly inedible. We both chose to stop eating well before we were full out of concern for the quality of meat.
Finally, the service. I would not have had a complaint about this if it wasn't for how our concerns about the lamb were handled. My dining partner and I are not the type to complain, however I did want to mention something in case this was a one off event. When we raided our concerns, she immediately responded with a dissimissive "that's how it always tastes. I've had it myself. It's always like that". There was no follow up with the kitchen much less the manager. I didn't expect a discount considering we had both attempted to eat it, but to dismiss someone's concerns about the quality of meat without double checking it at all is absolutely baffling to me and raises concerns about their standards for health and quality. I am a cook professionally so it was also extremely frustrating to be treated like I didn't know what lamb was supposed to taste like.
Update: me and the person I had dinner with both felt sick the next day. I threw up, had to take the day off work, and spent most of the day in bed.

Read moreVery disappointing experience.
We arrived as a couple of two having made an earlier reservation. We were seated relatively quickly but thats when it started going downhill.
About 10 minutes passed before a waiter attended to us. We quickly ordered 2 cocktails, two appetizers and their special roast duck two course dinner.
And then the waiting ..
About 10 minutes later the first appetizer arrives. No drinks yet. Another 10 minutes go by and my drink arrives but not my wife's. We asked what the delay was and the manager who brought my drink asked us again what was my wife's drink? We are now 20 minutes later and they didn't know what my wife ordered for drink. The second appetizer arrives. We finished the first and ate half of the second appetizer before finally my wife gets her drink (both drinks were from their menu so nothing special).
Once we were done with our appetizers we started the second waiting game. About 15 minutes after finishing appetizers and just waiting! Finally our first course arrives. And it was disappointing! Sliced roast duck served slightly warm (almost room temperature) and a lot of saugy skin pieces! Not what I was hoping for. Nevertheless, we eat it and we finish it! 20 additional minutes after we finished the first course we ask the manager: what happened to our second course? It was at the point that we have had it. We asked for the check and told them that we wanted to leave and we are not going to wait for the second course anymore! The manager oppologized and tried to convince us to take it home but we refused! He then rushed back and quickly came out with the second course in his hand and we still refused and demanded a check! We paid the full price minus 20 percent discount that the manager told us he was able to offer us for our inconvenience! (Despite eating only half of our $88 dollar main meal). I paid, left zero tip and thanked him for a bad evening.
We are not going there again and not recommending...
