Nails Trix — Local services in Federal Way

Been coming to this place for over 3 years now. Before the change in ownership, it is my opinion the business was doing a whole lot better and the service was exemplary. I'm afraid I cannot say the same anymore. The prices have gone up but the service is just horrible. Most of the ladies here always seem to be rushed and it almost seems like one criticism is enough to get your nails well botched. Came in for a shellac refill and regular pedicure and I must say I'm not impressed at all. I will give them one last chance but most def looking for another nail shop around.

8/15 Updating my review. Went in to get my nails done on 8/8/22(acrylic/shellac) and barely a week later the nails are chipped. Cant say i'm shocked or surprised. You see as I was getting my nails done Linh realized the nails were not drying. So she tried to switch dryers multiple times and it seemed this was not working. I said, "it doesn't seem like it's the dryer, I think it's the product". But you know how it goes. No one listens to the customer and since I don't want to sit through 40 mins at the salon as the ladies talk about me for complaining, I decided long a go to not say anything and let the professionals do their thing. I have been getting my nails done for a really long while and I know shellac on acrylic lasts up to 4 weeks. The last few weeks though my nails are barely making it a week. Again the prices have gone up but the product and service have gone down considerably. I don't want a refund or correction since it's been well over 3 days but I just want this new owner to know something ain't right in the milk. I wish you well my dear in your business but truly if you intend to go farther i suggest you look into your service provision closely. I will be moving on to your competitors....

Upon walking in I was greeted and treated kindly by one of the nail techs. I explain to her that I had an appointment and that I wanted a mani and pedi. The nail tech who was doing my pedicure never even looked at me let alone spoke to me once. Nonetheless, she was efficient and did a wonderful job. The nail tech who was doing my acrylic was very nice and we had a great chat. I showed her a pic of the nails that I wanted. She proceeded to quote the price but said the price would vary $5 or so based on the length of the nail. I told her I wanted all the designs minus the rhinestones. After we established the length she said the price of the acrylic would be $35. I agreed and she proceeded to do the service. As she shaping and filling I was impressed with her ability. My pedi was done and as I sat down the nail tech steps on my foot I have to go back and get my toes redone. Following that I paid and gave tips before the paint and she has the audacity to say if I wanted to additional paint on two fingers it would be $5 additional dollars. Mind you I had been showing this lady the pictures from the moment I walked in. Now she wants to charge more. I was livid! She begins to go back and forth with me until another nail tech tells her to just paint my nails it’s shouldn’t be an additional charge. I was upset because she was insinuating that I was ripping her off and I was a thief when we had agreed on the price of the service and I had already paid and tipped her. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. I will not ever go back. I’ve heard good things about them but I was treated like an animal. Oh and to add insult to injury my nail broke less...

Update: taking one star away because my last experience wasn't great, Kim has been out so I called ahead of time and asked who would be good at doing what I requested, I was told anyone there could help and to come in. The lady who did my nails was very sweet but my nails were very uneven and a lil painful in terms of application. I really hope one of the other girls can nail what I want, I'll be asking for Kammy or V and they will get a large tip if the service is as good as Kim's.

I love Nail Trix. I started getting my nails done for the first time ever last year, this was my second nail salon I tried and absolutely love since it's close to my house and never had bad experience. I've come here as a regular for almost a year! I've gotten my nails mostly done by Kim, she is so sweet, kind and attentive to detail. The nails are high quality and last the whole time until I need a fill. They are very strong! Something unique I noticed at this salon is they are very gentle with your hands and all the staff are very sweet. She is fast but doesn't rush, if you're looking for the cute pointy nails, she's really good at those. But honestly I would trust any of the girls here to do my nails!
