Sleep Number — Hotel in Federal Way

This review is for the Federal Way, WA store, and Dakota was the person that helped me.

My chiropractor, hands down, recommended a Sleep Number mattress when I asked, because mine was starting to break down/divet, making for sleepless/uncomfortable nights. I went to the website, took the test to best determine what would be best suited. Did the preliminary financing option, and was able to get 0% with a couple of different payment length options. Yes please! Went into the store, and Dakota was very happy to help me out. She did a demo on one bed, to determine what number best suited for my comfort. I was also interested in the head raising option, since I do spend a bit of time in my bed doing crafts, and that ended up being a big yes for me! Also, since that particular type of mattress requires a particular base/frame, the current one I have would not be compatible. She explained that they do have headboards and side frames, and I opted for the headboard so I wouldn’t be butted up against a hard wall, but a cushioned headboard. Now, I just have to wait for the delivery, which was about 5 weeks out, but it’s also December, so I’m sure the holiday has a lot to do with the time frame, but I’m happy to wait. I have to say, Dakota was very knowledgeable and attentive. Answered all my questions, asked me questions, had very nice casual conversations….just overall, a very wonderful experience! I am so impressed with Sleep Number!!! I had terrible experiences with JCPenney’s deliveries of two beds (Serta Classic Andria and Sealy posturepedic Paterson - both of which hurt my back) - so I went to the Federal Way Sleep Number store instead in January 2025. Dakota served me and is a consummate professional. She did a computer analysis with the Sleep Number apparatus while I laid on a bed and gave me my numbers to support my back the way it should be. She is highly organized and first class in this field, gave expertise knowledge in ways I could understand and graciously juggled between other customers and myself - acknowledging us and attended to us all so none of us were left hanging for service for too long. I had seamless experiences on both occasions I went into the store because of Dakota. The beds factor in you and your partner’s different needs and you can even control your partner’s snoring while they sleep on many options. Our Sales person David Stroy was excellent. He spent hours of his time going through all the beds, the controls, demonstrated their features, listened to my wife and my needs. There was no high pressure sales tactics which we loved. We went through all the many accessories like furniture, bedding, types of bases.

We told him we needed a few days to process all the information to make an informed decision between a Sleep number bed and a major competitor luxury line bed offering and he did not contact us like many sales people might. He respected us enough to give us space.

We came back to place the order in the time frame we had discussed.

We ended up not only buying the top i10, FlexFit3 base but we also bought a fully upholstered bed set, mattress pad, 2 sets of sheets, Down comforter and duvet cover.

David along with the Store Manager Dakota Brown gave us an amazing buying experience and my wife and I can’t wait for the delivery and installation.
