Dollar Tree — Local services in Flagler Beach

The store is pretty basic and generally clean. The manager is nice and knowledgeable. The heavy set elder Latina worker there is very rude though. She went on and on about “weave” all over the store floor as she swept dust and debris very close to my feet. There was just regular hair that probably came from her head. Did not once say excuse me. But I moved anyways (repeatedly) and she would just sweep closer. After her racist rant about imaginary weave that wasn’t on the floor, I go to the checkout counter because I was uncomfortable and wanted to leave.

Well she continues to target me with passive aggressive behavior. She spoke when I walked up but I was counting and didn’t immediately respond. Plus I didn’t want to engage with someone that was just speaking so distastefully about people that wear hair extensions. Why not just say there’s hair everywhere? It’s weave when you’re sweeping around the Black woman though huh. She proceeds to purposely push and knock over my items backwards as she hits the button to allow the belt to move items forward.

She did it repeatedly until heavier items fell on top of small breakable ones and several items hit the floor. Including applesauces that broke out of the package. I said “you did that on purpose” She looks at me but doesn’t respond. Mind you she’s got this manipulative smile the entire time. She obnoxiously continued her patronizing behavior as she loudly hands me my receipt saying “have a nice day!“. She knew what she was doing. And the other customers noticed and we exchanged confused looks. I could hear her as I walked away trying to make it seem as if I was the problem.

Her attempts at discrimination and gas lighting were reported to the store manager. He responded with “That’s unacceptable and I’ll address it generally but not directly so she doesn’t feel singled out or know it was you that reported her”. I said I don’t care if she knows it was me there’s nothing she can do to me. Her behavior was rude and insensitive“ I feel bad for the young Black girl that has to work with her. This employee should be singled out as she was the one mistreating innocent customers! This is unacceptable. Watch the cameras! Best one we have always fully stock people there to help always has there stuff up when they are supposed not boxese on the floor in your way . I will travel out of my way to just come here. Only down fall they open at 9 am instead of 8am...
