China Cafe — Restaurant in Flagler Beach

I've been a regular for awhile now but I've always been hesitant to write a review as all usual good experiences are you wait for that one bad experience so you can rush and write it up for the word to spread but after over six visits me and my friend sat down instead of your usual takeout and have not been let down ONCE. This is honestly one of my genuine favorite restaurants to sit down and enjoy some wonderful food this is not a generic chinese takeout with cheap tables in the corner just for that one occasional customer that sits down. This restaurant when walking in feels inviting to sit down and enjoy the food, the decor is simple but has just enough personality and characteristics to really individualize this restaurant from the rest of the countless takeouts we have in this city and palm coast. I've checked out nearly every single restaurant always expecting just quality takeout but this restaurant being a genuine sit down restaurant with some extremely fast service I am honestly more than sold. The second time I walked in with my friend a couple were already in the process of a large take out order for their family giving me and my friend to decide what we want. We ordered and got to choose the table of our liking and before the couple our food was brought to us in less than five minutes on some charming ceramic plates. We ordered from this restaurant on New Year’s Eve and it was delivered with more than half the order uncooked. We contacted the restaurant and they stated we can get a store credit (but they needed the credit card number to provide the store credit which isn’t a store credit it’s a refund) or they can bring me cash and pick up the food in approximately 3 hours. I told them they could pick up the food and give me the cash, but they never showed up. Today I called them to find out what happened and they said they were not going to give us a refund since door dash took care of it but they hadn’t. Door dash gave a $10 credit for an order that cost over $70 with more than half of the food undercooked. Both companies get a negative review if it was possible. We tried the China Cafe for the first time and last time. The food was not good. I had the Cashew Chicken. I have ordered this at other Chinese Restaurant and the chicken was never deep fried. This was heavily bread and deep fried. A very disappointing meal and very unhealthy. The brown sauce was most likely out of jar or can and way over salted. If you have high blood pressure I would not recommend this restaurant; way too salty. My husband had the Pork foo young, he said it was Ok; but, he has much better. The place had a burnt oil smell about it and you could pick that taste up in the food. We will not be returning to this...
