I have gone to this salon many times before and have had my hair highlighted for years at different salons, most in the Birmingham/Royal Oak area. I went in for a highlight at the end of August. My hair was in excellent condition and had some lightening on the ends from the summer and such. The stylist told me I had 3 different colors in my Hair (untrue). I sat there for 2 hours for the foils to be put in my hairā¦.by then I knew that the foils she placed first were going to be way over processed. I was correct. She rinsed me out and told me she āhad to put something in my hairā. She shampooed/conditioned and such and combed me out. She blew one tiny section of my hair out to āsee the colorā. She then proceeded to tell me she canāt blow the rest out since she had another client waiting. I went home and let my hair air dry. I combed it out a bit later and my ends were BREAKING off. My daughter said āoh my gosh mom! What is wrong with your hair?!?!ā. I went in because I wanted a refund. Kathy told me there is nothing wrong with my hair and the one inch unhighlighted section at my roots was ānormalā since highlights donāt touch the scalp. I realize that from working in a salon in the past, but one inch?!?! Come on. I asked for a full refund, she gave me a partial refund. To this day, my hair is still breaking and I can barely get a wide tooth comb through it, even with leave in conditioner and lots of product. I canāt even blow dry it because itās ruined. I want the rest of my refund, My Salon!!! I asked for a partial highlight and she overcharged me and gave me a partial plus. I was also charged for a toner!!! Who charges for a toner with highlights?! It should be an included charge!!!! Itās standard! I will also never recommend this place to anyone ever again. It was so much better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was the first time I went to this place. This is where my brother got his haircut and he liked how it looked so I decided to make an appointment and make a big change to how I looked. I got my hair cut and ears pierced here around June I believe. I do not remember the time the appointment was but I got there a couple minutes early and I had to sit and wait for 45 minutes however, I did not mind waiting it wasn't a big deal. The ear piercing went well, very quick, easy, and painless. However, the haircut I got was not what I asked for. When I walked in I asked her for a cut just above the shoulders with some light layering. I took my glasses off meaning I couldn't see anything she was doing especially on the back of my head. The entire cut she did not ask if changing the length or the style was okay. When she gave me the mirror I really liked the front it was cute and just above the shoulders like I had asked. However, when I looked at the back of my head she had cut the back about an inch shorter because she thought it was "such a cute style." I did not want the front to be any shorter or her to try to mess with it anymore, so I payed and left. Now that my hair is grown back out a little I'm going to get it fixed somewhere else. I will definitely not be...

We recently moved into the area, and were looking for a new salon. My 12 year old daughter decided to cut more than a foot of her hair off and donate it. She got an inverted bob haircut and it looks amazing. Not to mention, she walked out with a whole new confidence and the biggest smile. I could immediately tell that the staff is very knowledgeable and did an awesome job, which left us 110% satisfied! We will definitely be returning & recommending "My Salon" to everyone. Thank you for the great work, it's very much appreciated! ... I apologize in advance, but I forgot the name of our new stylist. If someone remembers us from the experience, please post her name because she deserves all the credit. She's a taller, beautiful, medium-length blonde woman. I'm...
