Pennington's Food Fair — Local services in Flatwoods

I am not impressed with this FoodFair for a few reasons. 1. The deli service is not very good. Some of the employees (deli) are rude and not helpful. The deli meat advertised is not stocked, and quite frankly, you have to be careful about the cut meat you get there b/c it goes bad days before the date listed on the package. 2. I tried using the carry-out service where I order online, and they bring it out to the car, but I had to go inside the store anyway, find someone who could help me and wait for them to find my items and after that they didn't even volunteer to take the items to my car. I would have refused that service, but the fact that they didn't volunteer shows this service is definitely not prioritized. People use this service to avoid going into the store, so I wouldn't suggest trying carry-out at this store. 3. The friendliness of the customer service at this store overall is average. There are some sweet people who work there as well as people who seem like they really hate their job, which makes the shopping experience quite uncomfortable. Never enjoyed shopping at Foodfair, however recently I began to occasionally frequent and have been disappointed by the lack of development over time. Foodfair stores in the area have a history of inconsistent itemized pricing and stocking, which is unacceptable in the year 2025 to need to go back to the register to fix mistakes after checkout so often. I also have a problem with the cleanliness of the dairy and produce sections, and I do not enjoy the selection at the deli. I believe the entire store (mostly all FoodFair stores) need a deep cleaning; the stores are nasty. The store app, coupon system, and online shopping are poorly constructed and difficult to use. I felt on multiple occasions employees were bothered by any of these types of services and it didn’t matter if any of these services actually operated or not. It made shopping here even worse and more stressful because of the difficulty with both the operation of these types of services and the employee performance. Foodfair stores could do much better at providing healthier, affordable fresh organic food...

Penningtons is the only grocery store in our small town of Flatwoods Ky. So some residents go to the store multiple times a week or sometimes more than once in a day. I do wish they would be a little more considerate when hiring Cashiers because not only did I have a bad experience with an employee recently, my husband and my parents have all had a bad encounter with a new employee. On three separate occasions. She has blonde long hair and she's really a beautiful girl.... Until she has to do her job and then she shows an ugly, impatient side and if not for the Man over this store being Such an Awesome, trustworthy and reliable person, I may not have gone back. She looked at me and rolled her eyes at the elderly lady ahead of me for taking a little longer than most people, as if I was going to agree with that type of behavior.
