What an absolutely terrible customer service and shopping experience. I have been to this store twice now and have had awful experiences both times. I immediately felt unwelcome as soon as I entered the store. The gray haired woman behind the counter did not welcome me and not only that, didnāt say anything when I cheerfully said, hello! I can honestly say that both times I have been here, I have been ignored and felt looked down on or profiled by my appearance (both times I was driving back to my home in Truckee/Tahoe after some awesome camping). Iām sorry⦠I didnāt know there was a dress code to be treated like a human being or legit customer. I had every intention of giving them a second chance and buying some things (a lot of things) but the clerk was nowhere to be found anytime I had a question. As soon as the store technically closed, she made it a point to close the door so I knew I had to get out, like I was inconveniencing her. So tacky and unprofessional. On my way out, feeling very hurried, discouraged from buying what I wanted, uncomfortable and judged, I quickly ask the price of a necklace that caught my eye. She told me and instead of asking if I wanted to see it or try it on, which I did, she walked away like she assumed I obviously couldnāt afford it. If you can stomach the pretension, judgements, and unwelcoming/hostile environment, the store actually does have beautiful items. My suggestion is find out who makes what you want, get the hell out of there, and purchase directly from the artist or a different vendor who is clearly more invested in their customers and deserving of your money. To the owner and employees, it is simply a poor way to run a business and youāll only lose. Hire people who are excited about your products, want to engage with customers about them and sell to them despite their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife went into The Study Club to purchase some items of clothing for our granddaughter. In the process she noticed a sweatshirt that was on sale with a no return policy if purchased. When she presented it to me I noticed that she had bought the wrong size. We returned to the store immediately in order to exchange the item for the proper size. We assumedāreasonably I believeā that the fact that we were not trying to reverse the purchase but only to get the size right would not be a problem. The Store clerk would not even consider granting our request. In a haughty manner she told me that the purchase was final. Instead she gave me washing instructions to keep the item from shrinking to the point where it no longer fit! It already didnāt fit! Utterly rude! This after my wife had just spent several hundred dollars in their store. Such customer service is inexcusable regardless of whether the products are of high quality. This kind of customer service will doom The Study Club to a short lifespan. At least their predecessors in that location could blame Covid for their demiseānot poor customer service. I know I would never shop there again and I spend a lot of money in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWandered in on a cold rainy day. Inside was also freezing as the front door was open. I commented to the sales lady that it was really cold inside (not conducive to wanted to shop, try on or buy) and she said people wouldnāt know they were open if the door wasnāt open although there was an āopenā sign in the window and we were the only people in there, so clearly this marketing tactic is not working. Her suggestion was to shop upstairs since it was warmerā¦lol we didnāt stay long because it was freezing in there. Unfortunate, as it was a lovely store with beautiful high end merchandise. She directed us upstairs to the sale room which was also very pricey then proceeded to follow us up there⦠in the tiny sale closet (to watch us??)..hovering really obviously. We were dressed well, not sketchy looking at all. Every other store in town we shopped at had the nicest friendliest staff that we enjoyed visiting with and purchasing from,...
