Sweetwater is a very cute property, with a nice amount of outdoor space, my partner and I had a very nice massage but it was pricey, $185 for 80 minutes and $150 for 60 minutes, after we spent an hour in the hot tub. However I honestly felt anxious and uncomfortable there. The changing room was extremely small and it was very uncomfortable to strip naked in front of a stranger and the door was directly at the hall. We were given a robe though! I enjoyed the showers but agree there should be more than just body wash. When we entered the hot tub it was empty and then it eventually became full, and since the hot tub is a small circle, it was very awkward, I mean where do you look?... When we went to the massage building, my partner and I then went with our massage therapists, it was all fine and then while I was getting a full body massage I noticed the male massage therapist was very nervous, he breathed very quickly and anxiously it seemed but it gradually lessened. It didn't seem professional to me. Also what was off putting was that in the massage room there was a note on the side table asking you to tip the massage therapists.... That is classless and crude. When I was done I went back to the lobby building, we had to pass by a lot of people heading to the restaurant. At the lobby I paid and the guy asked me if I wanted to leave gratuity and I said no, he also seemed inhospitable and I felt uncomfortable to be around him so I went for a walk to wait for my partner. I hope these massage therapists get paid well... I felt a little bombarded by the employees to leave a tip. And to be honest some of the workers, the massage therapist and the guy at the lobby processing my payments, there seemed to lack professionalism and hospitable etiquette. Spa's should be a place of relaxation and comfort, this place...
Read moreReally cute cozy place. Love the concept of having your own hottub to share with friends or more than friends! The sauna was wicked hot which was nice.
My only critiques are it’s a bit pricey for what you get and compared to other hot springs/spas in the area without making up for it in amenities or time you get to stay. We paid $50 for 90 min. I wish the showers had more than just body wash and I also wish the spa had some fancy water or something like that available in the clothing optional areas cause boy did we need it after the sauna🔥
But overall a super pleasant experience that can be a nice addition to a romantic or hiking...
Read moreWe were in Mendocino for my birthday weekend and it rained one of the nights and was so cold! We were soaking wet from walking around all day and desperately wanted to soak in a hot tub. I called Sweet Water Spa on a whim, and they got us in to use their communal tub! I wish we could have had private, but they were booked. Thankfully when we arrived no one else was there! It was such an amazing experience to be in a redwood hot tub on a stormy night. I loved all the glass window decorations and overall it was so unique and memorable. I’d now say to everyone it is a MUST DO when you...
