The Sweetest escape on the Mendocino Coast couldn’t have been any more perfect. The Luxurious, private & pet-friendly stay at @nicholson_house paired with nearly perfect sunshine was everything we needed & more. ⁣ ⁣ The walk-ability of everything in the heart of the Mendocino Village to the Nicholson House was a huge reason we were excited to stay there. We didn’t have to drive anywhere our entire trip. From the @nicholson_house , you’re within steps of delicious restaurants and coffee shops like @cafe.beaujolais - a few blocks down you’re greeted with boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, tasting rooms, historic sites and of course the Pacific Ocean and various small beaches along the Mendocino Headlands. ⁣ ⁣ My highlights of my stay: ⁣ ⁣ •First and foremost how picture perfect everything is, cause well ya know, I like photos! 📸🤣 ⁣ ⁣ • The garden room we stayed in is dog-friendly, scout was even gifted a bag of doggie treats, clean bowls and her very own blanket to use during the stay. ⁣ ⁣ •No fine details were missed in this magical place, down to the details on the door hinges, to the size inclusive towels big enough to wrap all the way around a real body, luxury soaps, robes, and branded bath slippers. The coffee and tea served in room was also top tier. The creamy early grey tea 🤤☕️ to die for on a crisp morning at the beach. I also really appreciated the comfort of the beds & pillows, and how clean and perfected curated everything was. Oh & the heated bathroom floors, something I would never think of, but is SO nice to have on a cold, dewy morning seaside. ⁣ •Everyone we encountered was SO NICE. Even a few locals who met and loved Scout, would see us out and about would stop to say hi to us in passing.⁣ ⁣ 🌲Growing up in Mendocino County, this trip felt like a trip home and I can’t wait to go back soon! ⁣#pnw #mendocino #ocean #petfriendly @Visit Mendocino County

We spent 3 nights in one of their pet-friendly garden rooms and had the best time. The rooms had a great mix of modern amenities (heated floors) and period details (door hinges, drinkware, etc.). We’ve often struggled with finding comfortable and modern accommodations on the coast, specially ones that are also dog-friendly. But Nicholson was all that and more. Mendocino is small, but Nicholson is perfectly located next to some of the best food in town (Waiting Room, The Brickery and Beaujolais). We also ended up with walking from the hotel down to the beach and enjoyed many a sunrise and sunset. Check-in and check-out were easy and all virtual but not impersonal. We felt welcomed from the moment we opened the door. They had treats for our dog, towels, blankets and even doggy bowls). We truly cannot wait to return to Nicholson House and to Mendocino.

Woah! My stay at the NH in Mendocino was AMAZING! It was definitely the nicest place I have every stayed. The cleanliness, the attention to details within the room, (hello, heated bathroom floors!) as well as the walk-ability to everything in the village of Mendocino was PERFECT. I stayed in the Garden Suit 8 which is one of two pet friendly rooms available, and my dog absolutely enjoyed her stay too. (they supplied treats, bowls, and special dog blankets!) The check in process was seamless and easy, the stay was quiet and overall made for a great trip. I appreciated the easy accessibility, as well as the larger bath towels. The beds are also SO comfortable, you can definitely tell there is so much heart, and soul put into this place, down to the details on the door hinges! I am already planning my next trip for summer time & telling all my friends!

My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Nicholson House. Despite the absence of an in-person reception desk, there was absolutely no issue with check-in or check-outit was super easy. ||Our room was a Deluxe Queen (#5) and it was very nicely appointed. When we checked in there were Madelines as well as a decanter with bourbon, freshly ground coffee with a French press, an electric kettle and an assortment of teas. There was a carafe with filtered water as well as milk in the fridge. No plastic cups or glasses here; instead, nice drinking glasses and coffee cups. ||Two comfortable robes as well as very nice bath amenities were waiting for us in a beautiful tiled bathroom. And what a nice perk to have heated floors in the bathroom!||The bed was very comfortable with nice linens and there were nice plush towels in the bathroom. No scratchy sheets or skimpy towels here!||There were coupons for breakfast which you could get at The Waiting Room, a few doors down. The selections for breakfast as well as coffee drinks were varied and very nice. We had breakfast there two days and my husband went there one afternoon to enjoy a glass of wine. He said it was very nice for a little afternoon break. ||I’d say staying at the Nicholson House is like staying with a good friend who welcomes you to her home and has a beautiful guest room ready for you. ||We were fortunate to meet Mollie who showed us a Luxury Queen room as well as a Superior King suite. Both were roomier than our Deluxe Queen room and the Superior King was especially nice. When we next visit Mendocino, we will reserve a Luxury Queen room for a little extra space. ||I would not hesitate to return to the Nicholson Houseit’s a lovely place, very comfortable with plenty of special touches to welcome you. ||Another perk is that you can walk to the shops and restaurants in...

I don't have enough good things to say about Nicholson House! We booked a last minute trip to Mendocino with our two dogs for the long weekend. Nicholson House is beautiful, the grounds are breathtaking and so thoughtfully designed. The room itself was a dream - I am so picky about hotel rooms and have to say this might be the nicest room I have ever stayed in. The room design was stunning, with amazing vintage pieces, stunning decor, and the most comfortable sheets I have ever slept on. We stayed in room #9, and we also appreciated that while there were other guests on the property, it felt very private and secluded, and was very peaceful and quiet. I really have to give a shout out to the team that runs the inn for how thoughtful the additions to the room were - they knew we had two dogs staying with us so they provided us with a large blanket and multiple towels and bowls to use for our dogs. They also provided extremely comfortable robes and slippers for the room, it felt like I was staying at a spa! To welcome you, they had a gorgeous tea and coffee station, chilled water, and some bourbon which was incredibly tasty. All of this, plus an incredibly heated floor bathroom with the hottest steam shower - it felt so good after rainy walks on the coast. Nicholson House also provides a voucher for a free morning beverage and pastry at The Waiting Room, which is right next door. Don't let the fact that it is free fool you - the coffee was fantastic, and the pastries were out of this world. I think the lemon cheddar scone took me to another planet. I will definitely be back to stay here, I can't recommend it enough. It was such a great visit, and it was one of the rare places where you and your pets will truly...

We just finished a 2night stay at The Nicholson House. Every year we take a couple of days away from our work to focus on our business. We always aim to stay at places that are inspiring and will help us get in our creative flow. We also look for places that have good space for us to work while also having easily accessible places to eat, walk, and have some leisure time. Nicholson House checked all those boxes. We stayed in one of their lovely suites - the West Suite. It gave us the extra room we needed to work and also felt very cozy and relaxing. Every detail in the rooms is so well curated and thought out - beautiful and inspiring- check! From the complimentary bourbon and madelines to the heated floors, and all the antique furniture, and record player - no detail has been missed. It is also perfectly located in walking distance to the Mendocino Headlands (a must when you are in town), and Big River Beach. ..and you can't get any closer to the best restaurant in town - Cafe Beaujolais. This is a Beaujolais property and just like the rest of their businesses- it is top notch, high quality and service. While we never saw any of the staff on property, there was no shortage of communication. It was effortless and the response time on any questions was immediate. While we were working most of the time, it is definitely a wonderful place to come and NOT work. So much to do and see in the area and never get in your car. I highly recommend The Nicholson House and hope to...
