The Palisades — Local services in Fort Lee

My personal advice would be to avoid this building at all costs. As a tenant of a mere 8 months, I have run into more issues in this building than anywhere I’ve lived prior. During the winter months, we did not have access to hot water or decent water pressure for days at a time every 8-12 days. This issue has not yet been rectified. The communal areas have been under construction since I’ve lived here and the cafe that was here before has since closed. The pool is incredibly small for a building with over a thousand residents. Due to the frequent issues with elevators, there is frequently a line forming in the lobby as people line up to take the elevators. The gym is decent but lines form here as well to use certain equipment. The insulation in apartments is unsatisfactory and the walls are very thin. Windows in this building open minimally. The outdoor space is great for families with children but that’s the only redeeming quality I’ve found here so far. With so many pressing issues in the building, the management and board choose to focus on all of the wrong things. Can’t wait for my lease to be through so I can move out of here. Make sure to pay attention to details and ask important questions when visiting here as prospective tenants to avoid feeling deceived as I have and I’m sure...

There is no accountability! No hot water during winter months, poorly insulated windows, dysfunctional board and even worse management. Avoid this building like a plague. The owners should just withhold HOA till a range of issues are fixed. Common areas constantly get flooded including conference spaces which have been closed for over a year. Nobody knows what management does with the $. Also, all sorts of cultural issues in the way board manages things - zero diversity on the board! I have not personally seen the actual apartments inside; my rating is based solely on what I’ve seen as far as the lobby views and the men that greeted me and a client when we walked in. The men were great with respect to customer service! They let us in with ease and allowed us to take these beautiful pictures and just enjoy the view regardless of where we came from, so that’s 5 stars...
