Prepaid for tickets for show using Atom to guarantee access and expedite entry. Had barcode ready for scanning upon arrival at AMC for the first time (6:55PM on 2/3 for 7PM movie). Parking lot lights not on despite being dark. AMC sign not lit so a dark building and parking lot made the location harder to find and feeling uninviting and less safe. Some entry doors locked without signage. Only two employees visible upon entry, both behind the snack counter with one serving a line of customers at least 6 deep wanting snacks while we just want our barcode scanned so we can get in to see the movie. I asked the employee not serving customers if we could get our code scanned so we can see the movie on time and they tell us we have to wait in the snack line for scanning or ticket purchase. This employee then proceeds to leave the snack counter and begin sweeping up popcorn, etc in the lobby rather than opening another of many possible service stations to serve customers quicker. After waiting in line about 5 minutes, a third employee appears, opens a second station, and offers to serve us. She is not able to scan our Atom barcode so I have to find another code number on my phone from our purchase so we can enter which I eventually find. I notify this employee of the dark parking lot and unlit AMC sign in hopes she will act to correct these issues but instead she shrugs her shoulders and points us to our desired movie entry #4. Being late, I decide to enter to not miss any more than possible rather than engage in further dialogue to address the apparent apathy and poor customer service. We sat in the center of the theatre in very uncomfortable chairs that had our butts sore within an hour. Cold air blew on us from the ceiling throughout the 2.5 hour stay, likely from a foot wide round hole there, with the room temp feeling like mid 60's without the draft. We got cold. The front speakers distorted (crackling/fuzzed) the bass and only the left side surround worked with no right side (channel) sound. When we left the AMC building, the parking lot lights were now on but the AMC sign remained dark. NOT a good...
Read moreI rarely leave reviews or complain but this was an awful experience. We decided fairly last minute that we wanted to see evil dead rise and this theater was the closest with a time. We bought tickets online for the 3:30 showing at 3:10 and arrived with tickets at 3:15. A large group of about 10-13 entered just before us. There were no signs or directions on where to redeem tickets and the large group went to the concessions stand. We decided to forgo the concessions that we wanted because it wasn’t going to be worth the wait. There were 5 workers behind the counter and only one concession stand computer open, maybe the rest were broken? Who knows. I asked another worker I saw not behind the counter if I needed to scan our tickets in anywhere, and she said no, then said “yes, get in that line”. On the way back to the large line another worker came from behind the counter and asked if he could assist us with our tickets. I asked if I needed to join the concessions line if I had pre-bought tickets and he said yes, then added that I needed to take my empty water bottle outside but I could have a plastic cup for water from the fountain. At this point the movie was already beginning, we had tickets but no way to scan them, and the large group still hadn’t decided what they wanted to eat/ needed to buy tickets. We just left, requested a refund on the app, and found a later movie at a different theater. There were no directions, workers were leaning up against counters on their phones, and it was overall a not great experience. We...
Read moreThe customer service when it was time to buy two tickets, a bucket of popcorn and large soda was great but I knew something was too good to be true. I chose to see Sound of Freedom and immediately i and my friend realized how quiet the movie was and eating popcorn over the movie was a distraction. So I addressed the issue to the sweet girl working there (that later became annoyed by the complaint). Shortly after returning to room 8 to give it a second chance after she turned it up from what she omitted the lowest sound level, I had to go back and invite her in to hear it and she said earlier it played just fine but if it's still not loud enough she can refund the tickets. So I sat down and after she left the lights started flickering in and out and then they came on for good but the sound never increased. So I then asked for my refund and I'm going to be pursuing my refund for my AMC Premier membership and if AMC doesn't cooperate I will expose AMC in and out of court because after I left I talked to my sister and she informed me that most movie theaters are tampering with the movie so where people don't want to watch it. Americans are good at complaining but not protesting and boycotting to the extent where a business is affected. I'm not that American.. I'm not gullible...
