Hobby lobby is by far one of my favorite stores and after my experience today I will NEVER go to the location here in Fort Wayne again! I’m from Ohio but I’m staying in Fort Wayne right now for work. I went there yesterday and shopped around the bead section for probably about a hour and a half to 2 hours. I do A LOT of crafts but beads are something new to me and one of the few things I don’t have a stash of so I was trying to get the most bang for my buck while also searching for certain colors and charms for the things I wanted to make for projects I had in mind. I spent $100 in all and had put a few things away at the register after finding out they weren’t part of the sale. After getting home I realized I got all only one size of beads, while I got many colors there were not a variety of sizes and figured I’d go the following day and get a few more sizes to go with what I already got before the sale was over. Within 15 minutes of being in the bead section the manager came over to me and was making comments about how long I was there the following day, asking if I do a lot of jewelry making ect. The entire interaction made me extremely uncomfortable and feel like she was suspicious of me, I almost walked out right then and there without anything but felt that would only further their suspicions so I didn’t, she then came up a second time about 40 mins later at which point I decided to grab what I had and check out. If it weren’t for my husband who came into the store after calling to let me know he was back from the gas station and realizing I sounded upset about something telling me to not put my stuff back I honestly would have left the entire cart and walked out at that point. I spent $75 the 2nd day, clearly after spending almost $200 in two days I’m not a theif my husband and I BOTH work for General Motors and make over $100K a year I have no reason to steal and would never risk losing my freedom over such a small amount of money. The way she profiled me and treated me was beyond infuriating and plain insulting. I will...
Read moreI'm pregnant and It took me 20 minutes to find the bathroom 😡 (which, by the way, walk in, go straight back to the back wall, turn left, pass 2 big grey tables, and an "employee only" back area, it's a little ditch in the wall pretty much), and we also couldn't find an employee on our adventure around this huge store. So that added some frustration.
The isles also aren't labeled for what's in where, so you have to figure it out on your own so I also lost my family when I was done with the restroom, and my feet started to swell and ache from running around the whole store, so our visit was cut short.
They have 2 wheel chairs with baskets that you can push, but I didn't want to take one from someone who may have needed it more than me..
Other than that, I found some plain newborn onesies (and other baby onesies) that you can decorate in all sorts of colors like, white, baby blue, pink, dark (royal) blue, red, and more. Then a few more isles down (I'll put where they are after), there's an isle for clothing coloring like tiedye, and fabric paints to add stuff 😊 employees were nice and polite. I appreciated that.
The baby onesies, if you go to the bathroom, then just like you're coming out (put your back to the bathrooms), go left towards the grey tables, and a few isles down, you'll be able to see the onesies hanging up along with other shirts and stuff.
For the fabric paint, I think it's about 2 isles further down (going away from the bathroom still) and on the inside of the isle (you'll have to poke your head in) there are tiedye bottles in the shelf about hip level. The fabric paint is then inside that isle and...
Read moreI love this store it has so much to choose from, but trying to find someone to help you is about impossible. I walked around the store for a good 5 minutes before he even saw someone that works there, other than at the register obviously. I asked where something was and the two women who were standing there talking said they didn't know where it was one of them said it was in the front of the store the other said it was in the back so I said okay I guess I will just go try to find it. After not being able to find it for 10 minutes I looked for another employee and I said ma'am I have a question if you could point me in the right way I'm looking for something. She said what is it, super rude and super annoyed that I was bothering her while she was putting picture frames away. She walked so fast that I could barely keep up with her since I was pushing a cart with a baby in it. I asked her a question about the product when we finally found it and she said I have no idea I'm sorry and just walked away. Still trying to find what I was looking for I asked a fourth person who again proceeded to tell me she had no idea. She did try a little harder than the first three but I was really shocked at how unhelpful and rude the employees were. They acted like I was...
