I’ve loved eating at this restaurant for about 12 years or more, ever since Leon owned it. I love the Blue Agave margaritas and Azael is a good person. My fiancé and I share a birthday so we decided to go out tonight and celebrate. Our waiter was so rude from the moment he came to our table. I told him it was our birthday and that we would love a shot of tequila and he just gave me this blank, dead stare. I tried to show him my ID and he refused to take it. I joked with him, “Hey, I’m still young.” And again he gave me this blank, dead stare. It was a Saturday night and the place was a ghost town. It took him almost 20 minutes to bring us our drinks. He didn’t even come back for our order. There were literally three other tables in the whole place and tons of servers. When he brought my margarita, I informed him it was supposed to be frozen and not on the rocks. He gave me this annoyed look and in a dry, monotone voice, said “okay.” At that point I was done and told him never mind. Not to mention our menus were sticky and the table had salsa on it from the people who dined before us. I informed Azael of the bad service before leaving and I don’t know that I will ever be back. When we do take out orders, they are wrong 95% of the time. Ironically, it’s usually my meal that isn’t there or isn’t correct. We went to a different Mexican restaurant (123 Wells Street is the address) instead and had a genuinely great time. Our waitress was cheerful, the overall vibe was friendly, everyone was smiling and having fun and we generously tipped our server because she truly made our night memorable and happy. It’s sad to be done with Agaves but it used to be the best restaurant for so many years and it just isn’t the same and hasn’t been for a long time. I’m not sure if that waiter doesn’t realize his attitude affects his income or why he has such an “I hate the world” attitude but clearly the service industry...
Read moreFIRST & LAST time customer for Agaves!!! They came highly recommended by a family member so we thought we’d try them out for the first time. Went to the Washington Ctr. location and the atmosphere was decent, clean and well kept. The staff was friendly but had trouble understanding English as we had to point out menu items and tell them several times what we wanted. Our food came out fairly quick and hot and looked very delicious and proportional to the cost. But things turned for the worse after 15-20 minutes into eating…..into eating my meal I began to feel nauseous and my stomach started to ache and became uncomfortable. My wife was starting to experience the same thing as well as my youngest daughter. I ended up having to use the restroom almost immediately and had severe diarrhea and dry vomiting as the food simply wouldn’t come up??!! My wife started to feel ill as well and we left immediately. Came home and ALL 3 of us had severe diarrhea multiple times throughout the night and my wife became dizzy and severely nauseous and had to lay down. We suspect that we had FOOD POISONING and believed it was from the beans as we were the only ones to have that as my other two children did not! As of now the 3 of us are still recovering from feeling sick and do NOT plan to ever return to this restaurant due to this experience!!! Eat at your own risk at this location and be cautious is all I can say. Not happy customers especially after spending $90 just...
Read moreHaving been born and raised in Mexico I am very particular when it comes to Mexican food. For that reason I try to eat at Mexican restaurants that I know or follow recommendations from friends and co-workers. Such was the case on Sunday 4/25/21, I decided to try Agaves Mexican Grill to celebrate a particular birthday on recommendation of a co-worker. We were very impressed with the service, the food and the location. At our request we were seated next to a window which placed us on the back of the building. The sitting area selected was empty, we were the first customers in that section and I started to think we were going to be forgotten. To my surprise the waitress showed up within a couple of minutes with salsa and chips and ready to take our drinks orders, followed immediately by the food order. The food came in no more than 8 minutes after the order was placed. Everything we order was excellent, the seasoning was excellent, the flavor was awesome and the variety of salsas they provided was very well made with exceptional flavor. My family and I were very pleased with the experience, Agaves Mexican Grill has become our favorite Mexican restaurant in Fort Wayne. By the way, we arrived slightly before noon, there were a good number of people when we arrived. The place was packed by the time we left. Thanks to the crew at Agaves we had a very enjoyable birthday celebration. Keep...
