Thank you to all the staff at WellNow in Bradford! Very fast and efficient!
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I was getting hives on my body. Not really sure what they were from, as I have never had an allergic reaction like that. Initially thinking it was heat rash or just a seasonal thing. Took some Benadryl, with relief.
Yesterday (Sunday), I woke up with more hives and red blotches all over. It also progressed to intermittent trouble breathing that worsened on exertion.
I told Keegan, I wanted to try and make the drive home with the plan of Stopping at the ER if needed.
During the drive, my breathing got worse and the hives/redness progressed to around my neck. Of course, I was breathing short and fast breaths, so I started to get numb in my face and hands. I was pursed lip breathing and felt like I had COPD.
We ended up diverting to WellNow in Bradford Pennsylvania, as it was right off the highway.
When we walked in, a nurse stepped out in the waiting room to get another patient and noticed something was wrong. Didnât worry about checking me in, She immediately took me to a room, and within seconds I had the entire staff in the room with me.
The Nurse Practitioner (Stephanie) was so calm and polite. She understood I couldnât really speak, and let Keegan do the talking.
Within 1-2 minutes of being there, they had vitals on me and Epinephrine being admitted to start reversing the ďżźreaction. My HR was 165 đ.
I hate getting shots, so the one nurse held an ice pack on my neck AND held my sweaty hand without hesitation.
Then writhing 5 min they gave me Benadryl and had Zofran ready.
The staff worked so well together, kept calm, and was so reassuring with me!
I was terrified and Iâm sure Keegan was also, but the staff was sure to explain everything as it was happing and stayed with me until the reaction stopped. They kept me for about an hour to ensure I wouldnât start to react again. During that hour they checked in on me, gave me water cause I was sweating profuselyďżź and had a really dry mouth.
The NP, sent me home with some steroids and a pack of Epi Pens.
Before we left, she gave Keegan and I a hug, cause she said we scared her and was happy to see I am better.
To make it even better, she just called me to check in and ensure I was still doing better!
Seriously couldnât have had better people to take care of me â¤ď¸đ
I wish I could remember names to give them a shout out,but it all happened so fast! THANK YOU...
Read moreI will start by saying the facility is clean, the staff was friendly and the care was good. Now the not-so-good.
I visited the Bradford WellNow on June 1, provided my insurance information and paid my copay via a debit card. On July 7, I happened to be checking my bank account and discovered that WellNow had charged my card $250. Following up with WellNow, I ended up speaking with a hard-to-understand someone in a foreign call center who said the claim had been denied by my insurance company. When I called Highmark, the rep said it was not her first WellNow issue of the day. She had me hold while she called WellNow and found that they had coded something incorrectly, which is why the claim had been denied. She advised me to watch my Highmark account until I saw that the claim had gone through, then follow up with WellNow for a refund. As of August 17, I am still watching Highmark. Who knows when I will see my money back.
Last December, my wife visited the same WellNow. Nine months later, she gets a "final notice" (actually the only notice) from WellNow saying she owes over $300. When she followed up, she found that WellNow had her Medicare number incorrect, and so it was never paid by her Medicare supplement insurance. WellNow advised her to ignore the invoice, but it remains to be seen if that's the last of it.
Based on these two experiences, we will not be using...
Read moreThis place is amazing and so much faster than going to the emergency room. I didn't have an appointment, I just went in to be seen, and they still took me back within 15 minutes (so I didn't have to wait long at all) the nurse took my information and did my vitals, and as she was walking out of the room, Doctor Bill was walking in!! He was very thorough with my examination, told me what all I had going on, made sure I didn't have any questions, called my prescriptions to the pharmacy and I was discharged and out of there within 45 minutes! They even chit chatted, joked and made me feel like I wasn't just a number, but someone they were happy to see and help!! And the receptionist was great! She was smiling and welcoming from the minute I came threw the door until I left and you can tell she truly loves her job and loves helping people in any way she can! I've told everyone I've spoken to how great this place is and urged them to go there if they're ever in need of a doctor and there PCP can't get them in right away. I'm so glad my son talked me in to going there instead of BRMC Emergency Room, or even Olean General because the care I received at Well Now was 100 times better than either ER!! Will definitely return of I need to, oh, and they have free slushy's in the waiting area too!! Who doesn't...
