If there were less stars to give, this Chase branch would earn them. Zero to this branch, led at least in part by the Assistant Branch Manager Taylor Fairfield. This is the second incident that has occurred within the past 8 months. And additionally, I will say to those that read this that in both situations, the Assistant Branch Manager Taylor Fairfield was the person with whom I interacted and was the common denominator in both situations. I did not identify this until midway through the incident that occurred approximately one week ago. What happened? I went into this branch to cash a personal check that was written by my father about 2 hours earlier than this incident. I went to the bank and approached the bankers and was met with the banking teller named Ann. Ann, immediately made a judgement about me (it was very obvious through body language and eye contact) maybe because I was dressed in jeans and a baseball hat and with the tattoos on my arms. What that judgement was, I am not sure, but I can only imagine she felt that I would not be able to cash a check of this large amount. She closed up her window, secured the area and retreated to the back to "speak with the Manager." Approximately 10 minutes later, Taylor Fairfield appeared in front of me and stated before I could even get a word out that "...we cannot cash this check we can deposit it." I tried to ask for a reason as to why the check could not be cashed and all I was told is "the system wont allow it." The check was written on an account that was opened at that exact branch. So for whatever reason, maybe my appearance, or maybe because when the manager appeared in front of me and I saw her name tag, it clicked. The same person that was involved in the other situation 8 months earlier (another story for another day). Basically, Taylor asked me to come with her and that she would explain. Well I was already calling the Chase Customer Service to file a complaint because once we both connected the dots, of course there was some hurt feelings on her part, I assume, and her tone in her voice reflected that. Not that I should expect anything from anyone, but if I am an Assistant Branch Manager of a huge bank like Chase, I would definitely make sure I had brushed up on my people skills and my ability to DE-ESCALATE a situation. Instead I was met with, "We can close all of your accounts today if you want....", and "Leave my desk area." I was even told that I needed to "Leave this bank right now or I will call the police." My response to that is, "Go ahead and call the Police. Tell them that Im just trying to find out some information about why the check cant be cashed and I'm sure they will be on their way to arrest me." HAHA. So, this is basically a situation where sometimes staff are put into positions way too soon and they may need to learn how to interact with people. Just my thought. But a very special thank you to the gentleman who did try to assist me and my father and was very helpful in deescalating the situation by asking teller Stephanie to assist us to which she did with kind words and we appreciated them both. Thank you to the two of you for your efforts. By the way, as I was leaving, Taylor was still on the phone with the police trying to get them to come down to the bank. Just pathetic customer service. I hope the higher ups at the Chase Bank intervene to ensure that more customers are not being treated this way. Well one time, ok I forgave it. Two incidents in 9 months of similar nature....ya im done. Good luck Sun City West Chase. ...
Read moreMy dad passed away on Mar 27th. I went into this particular branch to close out my late father’s safety deposit box. When I was looking at the papers I noticed that they charged the account $125 at the beginning of April for the next 12 months. I asked the associate to talk to the branch manager about waiving the fee since we obviously don’t need the box anymore and we are only 2 weeks into the new charge. The associate explain to me that I could use the new fee for my own safety deposit box, however I explained to him I had a house safe and didn’t need one. The branch manager still refused to refund the charge even though she knew my dad passed away before the bank charge. NICE EXAMPLE OF EMPATHY AND HUMAN KINDNESS CHASE. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED...
