I used to have beautiful teeth, and I used to always get compliments. Then I battled cancer and am now 5 years cancer free, however, I was left with beautiful teeth no longer. My teeth began crumbling out one by one. My dentist had literally no sympathy or bedside and said āsorry, they have to be pulled.ā Never provided me with any options and made me feel hopeless. I had began the journey of having over 8 teeth extracted as they were crumbling out. I suffered severe post-op complications leaving me with a very slow healing process. I had to go back in for more surgeries due to bone spurs, infections, dry sockets, and more. Even with a soft food diet, it didnāt matter, they were breaking from the inside out. I went to 6 other dentists as my teeth were still continuing to crumble out and some tried to be sympathetic but informed me nothing could be done and that they had to be extracted. I began the implant process, but due to my bone loss and bodyās rejection to the implants have made it to where I havenāt even been able to have any of the implants actually placed yet. As time went on, I had to go on FMLA due to the constant dental runs and time off to recover. I developed severe anxiety consisting of nightmares of all the ways my teeth would come out. I lost so much weight because I didnāt have an appetite and I feared more teeth coming out. They always say, listen to your heart or gut, and Iām so glad that I did! I gave it one last try and booked an appt with Dr H, and I almost cancelled it. From the moment I walked in, to the moment I left, finally a doctor/dentist who didnāt treat patients like another number or paycheck. I had hit the jackpot. I was treated like family, I was consoled from the anxieties I was feeling, I was given a blanket, I was asked if there was anything more they could do to help me be at ease. They went over my options and got me in at their earliest next appointment, stayed in contact with me, and even got me in sooner as yet another tooth had broken. I wanted to do veneers originally but financially it is not feasible at the moment, so I was just going in for the broken tooth to be fingers crossed repaired and not extracted. I had 2 other major problems that needed repaired or an extraction would be imminent. They were clear about the financing options and able to even work with me a little bit on the payment for having all 3 teeth repaired on the same day. Yes! Repaired!!! My teeth are repaired!!! I can smile! As a medical professional who works from home who is always on zoom meetings, being on camera was becoming difficult because of my teeth. I went in for a broken tooth to be repaired and I walked out being able to smile confidently again! I still have a long ways to go, but this was life changing. They offered me a protein shake after too. Yes it was expensive due to my insurance being out of network, but I walked out feeling happy, confident, and restored with what I had paid. I would rather pay out of pocket with the experience I had from here on out. I see why patients fly in from out of the country to see Dr H and his staff!! He does amazing transformations in some of the most difficult cases. Thank you! I look forward to seeing you for all future dental appts/treatment...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFasten your seatbelts because this will be long! My name is Shari. I had a dental emergency at the end of 2020 requiring I see an oral surgeon. As result I needed a tooth removed and needed an implant (my first). The oral surgeon was wonderful. However, he referred me to Dr. S. in Sun City West, AZ to make a bridge after the oral surgery was healed. I decided since Dr. S. was going to make my new bridge where the implant was placed, I'd have him replace a lot of old crown/bridge work. ALL of this work was completed by Dr. S in 2021. In late 2021 I called to make a cleaning appointment and discuss some concerns I was experiencing with my bite. The appointment was scheduled, then I received a call canceling my appointment and being told Dr. S. had retired and sold his practice. This is where Dr. Harmon comes in. I researched him and liked what I was reading, so I made a cleaning appointment. That was the best decision I could ever have made! As it turned out, much of the work done by Dr. S. was substandard and needed be replaced. After X-rays and an exam, Dr. Harmon pointed out (on X-ray) issues with the work Dr. S had done in 2021. I tried to act calm when seeing (on X-ray) and hearing this news since I and my dental insurer had paid thousands to Dr. S. I can assure you I was very upset and a bit scared. What would I do now? Well, Dr. Harmon wrote up a plan and recommendations and one of his staff members went over my options. Today, all of the faulty work has been replaced and the work seems superior to what Dr. S had done. The crowns Dr. Harmon replaced feel much more natural (to my tongue). Since most are back teeth, I can't say the new crowns look different but they ABSOLUTELY feel different. They feel BETTER and more natural. My bite is almost back to normal and should be completely normal once one last dental procedure is completed. Dr. Harmon is a consummate professional, gentle and kind. His staff is equally professional. Every visit has gone smoothly and been a pleasant experience. I look forward to continuing all of my future oral care with Dr. Harmon and his...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTo begin ⦠are you a dental patient that is REALLY afraid of going to the dentist? It's hard to admit that a grown adult (like 64 years old grown) will actually cry in the dentist chair. I had to have a lot of work done so I was in that chair for a while. We don't usually tell others that we are a cry baby or are so afraid that we put off taking care of our dental needs. This is a true fear and goes back to my childhood. If this sounds like you, this is the dentist office for you. You will not find a more compassionate Doctor who is incredibly understanding and will always make sure that you're as comfortable as possible. He also stopped working when I needed a breather. If you need some medication to help get you through the door he will help with that too. It also helps to know that Dr. Harmon uses the most modern equipment, procedures and techniques (Cerec) which is a real art by itself. Certainly not like āthe old days.ā The entire team are not just staff, they really care about their patients. When you leave the office you feel as if you've made friends. A special thank you to Tracie who held my hand during the injections and also reminded me to breath when I was holding my breath and Lydia who helped out when four hands weren't enough! Katie and Amy who keeps the office running smoothly! These two girls are a real team together and they just make you smile! They did all of the billing to the insurance company including my piggy back plan. I haven't met the hygienists yet but I will soon! I told Dr. Harmon that he is a lucky Doctor to have such an amazing team, which I might add matches his abilities and personality!
If you understand all this⦠just make the call and tell them Rhonda sent...
