My fiance and I live in the Ridgepoint apartments. From day 1 it's been an ever growing nightmare. The walls are paper thin here as is is, so if you have any loud neighbors...you're gonna know pretty quick. For the first year we lived here, we were completely convinced that our upstairs neighbor was playing a never ending game of leapfrog with a refrigerator...seriously...wth was he doing up there??? Well....that got drowned out pretty quickly when our neighbors beside us moved in. Total TRASH (I'm talking like 4 grown people living in a 1 bedroom, doing nothing but sitting out on their porch smoking, talking loud, drinking and TRASHING the front of their balcony AND ours). Anyway, the first day they moved in, at 8am they are BLASTING music to the point where the walls were rattling and even when we fled to the livingroom, it was like it was in our apt! Its not stopped since...when we went to tge office about this and other incidents with these people, the snotty office lady emailed it to her boss while saying "this is so stupid" (really?!) aaand nobody ever did get back to us...maybe its stupid for prople working the 9 to 5 but we work from 6pm to 3am and dont get to hit the sack til 6am... I feel like the dinky, pathetic door will be kicked in at any moment (we even sleep with the bedroom door locked). It certainly doesn't help that the people they "screen" and allow to move in here are scarey as hell! I was in my car, gathering up my things after class and this meth head who had seriously picked the hell out of his bloody face crouched over in my open car door and kept asking me creepy questions and wouldn't leave me alone. Infact, I rarely go outside of the apartment and get left alone. It's at the point now where I won't go outside alone, my fiance walks me to the car. And of course, tonight, at 1:30am cops are shining flashlights outside and using the spotlight on the cop car searching for somebody in our unit. Our new upstairs neighbor "trades favors for rent" we heard the cops say...I guess that about says it all for this darling little rat hole. There is just so much more to say about this place, we could write a novel...seriously, any good reviews written were written by the front office, all the other Tennents say it too...
UPDATE: Several ant problems. We no longer use the pantry for food. All things must be kept in sealed containers in the fridge. We had a MASSIVE ant armageddon in our closet (?) Yeah...closet...who knows why. So we had to clear EVERYTHING out, go through every box, bin and drawer, every piece of clothing had to be shaken outside then washed. Ants crusted over everything. I'm talking millions. While dealing with that we got robbed. Surprise surprise. All my fiancée's sweaters, button down shirts and hoodies were stolen. Not sure how unless somebody came inside at some point.
Also, while I was home alone in the shower, maintenance came in my apartment without even announcing themselves (not that it matters because they should never enter my apartment unless I let them in) I've never felt panic like that in my whole life realizing there was a strange man in my apartment. How is this...
Read moreCagan Crossings has a major pest control issue in which many buildings are completely infested with roaches; ranging from Ridgepoint to the Town Center lofts. I recently moved out of Cagans and was relieved to have done so. In the Town Center, many apartment windoors have a design flaw in which water intrusion is a regular and known issue. Maintenance stated the doors have a design flaw and therefore, there was nothing they could do. Every time there was heavy rainfall, the carpet would get soaked even if the entry point is taped up at the bottom. With this, black mold built under the carpet which is disgusting and of health concerns.
Property management is passive about these issues, but of course works quickly to slap an eviction threat on your door if you're a day or two late on rent. The pool at Ridgepoint is dirty most of the time, the gym equipment is old and hasn't been updated in over a decade. The elevators in the Town Center frequently go down for long periods with no communication about when they will be operational again. As I mentioned before, the complex has a major roach issue and it was so bad that we were too embarrassed to have guests over as we didn't want them to have roaches crawl onto them. When we opened work orders reporting the pests, a worker would just come in, do a quick spray and leave. Within 2 weeks, you're back to infestation levels. The Town Center Lofts reside above multiple restaurants which exaberates the roach activity. Also, our AC went out 3 separate occasions during the hottest period of the summer. We had to wait 3 days for someone to respond and work on needed repairs. We went almost a week with no AC in 95 degree heat which was dangerous for our ESAs and extremely uncomfortable. When I called their Dispatch, I was hung up on multiple times, sent to voicemail, or would be told the same thing "we see the work orders and will get to you when we can" very rudely. With all of this, we weren't compensated or even given an apology for the delay in service and unliveable conditions for that time period. Unacceptable.
When we would go to the Leasing office to pick up packages or have questions, many staff members were rude and would treat residents as if you were bothering them (but of course for future residents, big smiles and hospitality surface quickly).
The #1 issue we had is that we didn't feel safe. My fiance was targeted on 3 occasions by potential human traffickers as the complex is not gated, has no security, and is open to the public due to the businesses operating. Many times, creepy cars would just sit in the lots behind the town center at all hours with tinted window cars, with sketchy people in them for hours, sometimes just sitting and scoping out the apartments. Some neighbors reported the same concerns but stated that property management either would do little, or just recommend calling the police for suspicious activity.
Overall, stay far away from this complex. It may seem appealing due to price and complex size, but you get what you pay for and the experience is not worth saving a few bucks unless it's all that...
Read moreWhen we first arrived at Cagan's crossings in response to an advertisement, everything sounded amazing - almost too good to be true. We were shown a model (not the actual apartment we were renting out) and it looked spotless. Everything was properly cleaned and flawless as expected. WELL....when we finally moved in, our apartment was given to us in an AWFUL condition. It was so dirty, we have spent months trying to clean it. We have even had a case of BLACK MOLD, and according to their mold addendum in the lease agreement, they are free of responsibility from dealing with the mold. Yay! for $1000 a month for a one-bedroom, this is completely unacceptable. This place only wants your money, and nothing else. We have put in almost 15 maintenance requests and it takes them almost 3-5 days to respond or they just won't even come at all! There was even an instance where they marked the work as completed and never even came. Their "Maintenance" office is DISGUSTING and is full of boxes and paperwork all over the floors and desks. Completely unprofessional. Even after SEVERAL attempts (and emails) to resolve things with the new property manager, Terri, nothing has been done. Her grammar is terrible and she is very passive-aggressive. I DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE RENEWING AFTER THIS YEAR.
Update: The phone number given to me in response to this post is the number for the front office where Terri works, and that I previously mentioned is full of incompetent people. In short, nothing will be done. Wish me luck guys! (Note: It's Christmas eve and they are closed but still gave me the phone number in response to my review lmao)
Update #2: They let us cancel our lease early and ever since we have moved we don’t have anymore allergies or illness. Thank god!...
