We stopped in here on a whim, and immediately fell in love with the place upon walking in the doors. The entire shop, top to bottom, is simply perfection, yet I've no idea how to describe it in a way that even comes close to doing it justice.
The showroom is one large room that's split into two different areas. There's nothing solid separating them, yet they are very definitely two distinct rooms. One "room" has mostly apparel - there are clothes, shoes, outerwear, and accessories such as scarves and purses. There are also some knick-knacks and the like, but it's mostly stuff to wear. Everything I saw is pretty, for want of a better term, and well-made. Even if a piece isn't your style, you're very unlikely to recoil in horror from it.
The other room is furniture. While I didn't necessarily want all of it, I still felt everything there was attractive or unique, and would look good in the right setting. Several pieces I would have loved to take home right then and there!
The prices on the clothes and shoes are generally quite good. This is a consignment shop, not Goodwill, and the prices reflect that - but so does the quality. The prices for the furniture are the same - their things aren't cheap, but neither are they cheaply made. You're buying real wood furniture, not an IKEA dresser, and you pay accordingly.
I highly recommend checking this place out. You'll almost certainly discover something you need, as well as several things you'd like to buy. The women who work here are all friendly and helpful, making the visit that...
Read moreHorrible experience! I brought my clothes in today, on time for my appointment, only to be lectured(by the woman looking over her fake leopard designer glasses) that I should have brought them in on hangers. So I had to hang the blouses on hangers before they would look at my things. As I waited for their educated decision, I walked around the store listening to the background Christian music, wondering if I really needed to buy anything. I was eventually called back to the assessment area only to discover they only wanted to keep one blouse (of course the one that still had the tag on it). At that point I said I would take my clothes back and donate them elsewhere. So, I went to my car to get the bags that I brought them in and when I came back my items, were thrown on a pile, as though they were ripped off the hangers. So much for a feel good feeling and for thinking you were doing a good deed, by bringing your gently worn items in for others to enjoy. My advice, take your items elsewhere, preferably to NAW’s resale store in Mokena, (which I did), where the proceeds go to a good cause, such as medical expenses for the dogs and cats. Oh, and here is another hint for Evilena’s, turn off the Christian music, it certainly isn’t appropriate for your...
Read moreI've shopped here for almost 7 years I think. Each time, I've found unique, high quality items. I often peruse their online store just to see what's new, then I'll dash over and grab an item I saw online. I've also consigned some pricey items over the last couple years, and I like how they (Linda or whoever else) will sometimes ask if I had a dollar amount in mind. Usually I just defer to them, but it's nice that they've asked (just couple times). And if they say No to an item, I've been known to (friendly, respectfully) ask why(?). One time, there was a hairline crack in an item; I was embarrassed, and I'd never have known if I didn't ask them. This is just Fyi for anyone reading other negative reviews on here. If you're friendly and respectful, they will return in-kind
