Megamart Frederick — Local services in Frederick

We bought meat and vegetables from Megamart Frederick on 1Western Dr. to make beef soup. After I picked all the vegetables, I went to the back of the store and I asked the butcher to give me appx 2-3 lbs of beef. The store has the meat inside a refrigerator where you can see it but you can’t touch it nor smell it. I live 6-7 miles from this store. I got home and when I put the meat to boil, a strong smell was coming out of the pan. I pay no attention. I continue to put the vegetables inside. When I got ready to eat the soup and tasted the meat, it had a strong odor like beef but with taste of ammonia. I really flaw smell. I hope I don’t get sick from just tasting it. It smelled like boiled water with a nasty smell. I immediately called the store and asked for the store manager, and managers don’t take calls unless you describe the exact reason of your call, per whoever answered the call. I spoke to a lady name Alejandra “manager of the day” who was only preoccupied on whether I wanted to be reimbursed or not. She was not interested to hear what I had to say. She stated since I had already cooked the meat she wasn’t able to help me and requested I call back tomorrow and ask to speak with another manager by the name Nancy. She wasn’t interested in taking my name or phone number as any other professional store would have been. This people are selling rotten meat and are very unprofessional to handle a concern of a customer reg their product in their store. Not to mention, risking the health of other customers that can potentially buy their meat. Be careful, the meat I bought today didn’t taste like beef meat it tasted something completely different. It was disgusting. Never going back to this place. I decided to write this review with the intentions to make other people aware about this store who’s about $ and not interested in the quality of food they sell. Risking people’s health. I love their variety of products. They have Brazilian food and my favorite pão de queijo. “Brazilian cheese bread” .

However, the girls that works as a cashier are rude and do not know how to provide a good costumer service. I think the manager or someone should teach the staff how to provide a better service. Megamart is a great supermarket new to the frederick area. I like megamart because it reminds me of the fresh world grocery store I used to frequent in Herndon, va.
