I can't tell you how much it means to my boys and I the way the BSG family has opened its doors for us. Between the support and acceptance of my "alternative lifestyle events", the unabashed and unwaivering support for the LGBTQ+ community I've witnessed that made me feel welcome and made me feel good and safe about inviting my trans friends into the shop, and the time, patience, and energy I've seen you all willing to extend to young players, I feel just as at comfortable at BSG as I do in my own spaces. The level of support y'all give to high level players, experienced "sweaty" players like myself, casual players, and the virtually brand new folks I've sent to you all, is amazing. No one, no ask, and no acquisition has been too big or too small, from full dual land sets, all the way down to stacks for pauper decks.

Of particular note, it honestly made me a little emotional yesterday to see an entire cEDH pod of busy adults enjoying their time off taking the extra time, effort, and mental energy to help my son learn that type of game and the meta. First, letting him observe someone who explained their plays and strategies and let him see their hand and try to game things out. Then letting him borrow and run a deck while explaining to him what he did wrong and right as the game went along. I've been coaching youth sports for 11 years, I've loved all my players to death, and I barely have that much patience when I'm dealing with other people's kids.

~I can not stress enough how excellent my experiences have been at this place. ~They have the card games I'm interested in and a plethora more. ~They do tournaments for multiple card games and host leagues of tabletop mini games like 40k. ~The prices are competitive but reasonable. I buy my cards here, even boxes of cards. ~They have all the accessories you need- including sleeves, dice, binder, you name it. Even miniatures for your TTRPG campaigns and whatever you want! ~I made a Star Wars Unlimited Empire deck and wanted sleeves to match the leader's Aspect color. I went to the counter with my Rare leader card and asked for some assistance. May respectfully handled my card as she found the perfectly matching Dragon Shield sleeves. She asked me if they were what I was looking for in a sleeve- textured back, that brand, that sort of thing. They were, so I received my card, sleeves, and maaaaaaybe more SWU cards...I know that is a really basic hobby encounter to some people, but it is an easy example of the love and care the team at BSG shows at ALL TIMES.

I could go on with example after example, but this is getting long.

Well what’s there to say…I took a hiatus of MTG and decided to play again, quick google searches and several visits to other local-ish LGS’s I found Black Sun Games is a fun place to be at. Not only because of the great players but mainly because of the great staff. The store itself is definitely catered towards Commander (in a high-ish power level bracket…NOOO the one before cEDH) players but definitely isn’t shy of feeding the community with other TCG games as Lorcana, Pokemon, non commander MTG (standard, modern…you know it) or even table top games. I’ve seen the Marvel guys every Sunday! (I still want to try but I’m just too busy). I personally love the in house rules they have, because no other store I have played at is able to keep it straight and honest…guess what…neutral. No table fee’s and no commitment, just come and play and feel no pressure. No one will slash your head because the Rangers are better than the Caps for example. Nonetheless rules are there to ensure a fun environment and I love BSG and the staff to put their foot down for it! Anyways, the staff is wonderful in picking up your order or even find the cards you need (including the hard to find ones!). You should know Luke only wears shorts and May is almighty.
