My dad brought my beagle here yesterday 11/26/24 at 8:30am. He dropped him off and they said it was going to be about 1.5 hours. He doesnât get a haircut, just a bath & a nail trim. My mom went to pick him up and everything was fine from what she saw. She brought him home and I look at our dog and notice heâs scratching his ears (which he sometimes does, but he was doing it ALOT yesterday within 10 minutes) i look at his ears and they are COVERED IN DIRT. Yes my dog rolls around in dirt but he just came home from the groomer - so why would his ears be FILLED with dirt??? He continued to scratch his ears for the rest of the day. We called our vet because we thought maybe he has an ear infection. We brought our dog to the vet today 11/27/2024 and he does not have an ear infection but his ears were very dirty and when we told him we brought him to a groomer yesterday my vet was appalled that a groomer would let any dog leave with such dirty ears. We were pissed. My mom called Petco in Freehold today in the early afternoon and the first thing she asked was âMy dog was there yesterday and got a bath, do you usually clean their ears?â And she responded with âof course we do we always clean their earsâ and then my mom proceeded to tell her that his ears were visibly filthy and covered in dirt and she responded with âwell you can bring him back and we can clean themâ Like why say you clean their ears when you donât / didnât this time lol. Left a really bad taste in our mouths we wonât be back. We learned our lesson for taking our dog anywhere else other than our...
Read moreFantastic service! I was honestly blown away and don't want to move further away from this location for this reason solely đđ So I have three cats and they needed their nails trimmed, Petco has great prices...I called up, Nikki answered and she was fun, upbeat and really nice. I went into the store and honestly it felt like I was out with my best friends. Nikki and the other two girls that were there were so funny and kept me calm (of course I was nervous, they had my cats! What if my cats acted out and hurt them or if the cat moved too quick and got their nail cut too low) which really helped with my nerves. There was also another gentleman who helped me by watching my pet rabbit (yes I have a zoo) who couldn't be groomed at the location but could wait for us. I was blown away by all of them. They were all beyond friendly but also so professional and Nikki cut the cats nails so perfect. Just low enough that they'll take some time to grow back, but not too low that they started to bleed. So yeah this review is supposed to be about how they're great groomers but at the same time...I feel like the owner feeling comfortable is extremely important and I did. Thank you guys so much...
Read moreAt first, there was no one around to assist with the hamsters, or anything for that matter. Once I was able to speak with Rachel, our experience was too notch. My son's hamster had passed after having him for a short while and we were hoping someone there knew the temperment of the hamsters on hand. Not only did Rachel know the temperment of the hamsters, she was very patient with my son (he's 7) and the excitement of it all. She showed us a few hamsters and was very kind. She even managed to turn the initial frustration of not seeing anyone at all for at least ten minutes into an awesome experience which resulted in add on sales.
As a previous retail Manager, Rachel went above and beyond turning annoyance into happiness. Great job on Rachel for her knowledge...
